That's the plan, some years to wait for that though until all are old enough.

Hamilton with my parents again. Great choice, and I was able to appreciate so many other little things this time around. Like how the context of "how lucky we are to be alive right now," changes from the first song where it meant "everything is so exciting!" to "we are so fortunate that we aren't dead." You have the inversion of songs - "Stay Alive" playing before "Ten Duel Commandments" earlier in the film during the first duel Hamilton participates in is later reverse, with "Ten Duel Commandments" playing first and then "Stay Alive" coming on second when Hamilton's son participates in a duel.

The songs in the live version are of course different than the studio version in some ways. This doesn't really bother me, but Hamiton's "let's go" in the live version isn't as funny.

I adore Hamilton and Burr's relationship in this movie. I wish there were more dynamics like this in more stories. It feels so refreshing yet so tragic. I love it!

Halloween 4 - The Return of Michael Myers. The worst one I have seen so far. After having seen Halloween 1, 2, 4, H20, and the one from 2018, I only liked the one from 2018, the first one is overhyped and the others were utter trash.

I'm glad only the first one and the new one are canon.

    I re-watched Moulin Rouge.

I now know I'm far from the first to notice, but from a certain point of view IT'S OBI-WAN AND SATINE!!! :D(obi-wan 4) *ahem*. Great film anyway.

Followed this up with Fall of the House of Usher and Masque of the Red Death

the latter of which, if you haven't seen, plays all too well with the current climate in the US

I saw it in the theater and I've watched my Blu Ray copy multiple times since but I'm still not sure what to make of this one. There are so many things I love in it, the first half is old-school Bond greatness but once it starts getting into the Bond/Blofeld origin story, the Nine Eyes storyline and trying to unnecessarily retcon the three previous films I really start to dislike it. It's weird because the movie feels more like classic Bond before they really get into all the classic SPECTRE/Blofeld stuff, then when they do it just starts to feel more like modern origin stories/reboots and my brain doesn't really connect the new to the old. Maybe because they spend so much time trying to connect the new to the new with them retconning SPECTRE into all the other Craig films. If the climax were more exciting it might save the movie for me but I just find it boring and I think having M, Q and Moneypenny all involved like they're a Mission Impossible team was lame. Plus the whole "Bad guy wants good guy to kill him leaving good guy with a dilemma" thing. I do like the very end though with Craig getting a more light-hearted Moore-like ending where he rides off into the sunset with the Bond Girl instead of the more bittersweet endings his films have had. After the previous 3 movies the happier ending actually threw me off to the point that as the lights came up I was immediately asking if I missed something and that was officially Craig's last Bond.

    Hubie Halloween.

It isn't good but if you grew up on Sandler in the 90s, you'll find some nostalgic joy in this one

    Watched two movies last night:
--The Irishman = excellent! I didn't find the de-aged stuff creepy at all (although my TV is old so that might have helped there). Great movie! :)
--Blackkklansman = excellent! Warm and funny despite the horrible subject matter. Great movie! :D (Also, Adam Driver is a fraggin' treasure!)

Netflix: Outpost, kind of reminded me of Walberg's Lone Survivor. Pretty good flick. stay for the end credits they interview the actual soldiers involved in the conflict. The only thing I didn't like was when the Black/African-American Captain took over the Outpost, the company wasn't confident in his leadership... I'm glad that they showed how racism creeps into our daily life especially for people of color.

    Today's movie marathon:

--The Revenant = All right but somewhat boring. Pretty movie with some intense acting, but veeeery long. Watching DiCaprio suffer for 2.5 hours was a bit much. Glad I saw it but I probably won't need to see it again
--Eighth Grade = Great coming-of-age story, and very awkward... which, of course, is the point. Kudos to Elise Fisher who is a great young actress (she's also fantastic in Castle Rock) :D
--Gone Girl = Just started this one, but it's interesting thus far. Will edit in more once I've finished it :) Edit: Gone Girl was decent but convoluted and quite a bit overwrought. Carrie Coon (can't believe that's her name) was very good in it. I can dig.

I've seen it a thousand times since my childhood in the 80s but my girlfriend (who is a child of the 90s) had never seen it. I've been trying to get her to watch it since last Halloween but somehow she'd gotten the wrong idea about it from what she'd heard over the years and just really didn't care anything about watching it. Which was kind of frustrating because I knew this was right up her alley and she'd love it. She loves Stand By Me, The Goonies and vampires in general.... The Lost Boys is sort of like smashing them all together. Anyway I got her to watch it finally and it had the expected results even though I was worried I may have talked it up TOO much over the past year.

I finally managed to watch this myself, and really enjoyed it. Along with the warm glow of nostalgia there were a couple of genuine laugh-out-loud moments, and I must say that Brigette Lundy-Paine absolutely nailed mirroring Keanu Reeves.
