I agree, but even Bond is stronger when he's with a team, that's the message they were trying to get across since Skyfall I think.

I didn't like the Lovestory, Bond and Vesper had such great chemistry, this one felt like it only has been set up to be torn apart in the next one/ There is No Time to Die.

Last night I watched Terminator: Dark Fate with my gf and some friends. I didn't expect much, based on the lukewarm reception this movie got, but damn! That movie was great! While the second half might have phoned it in a little bit, the first half was stellar, and Schwarzenegger & Hamilton were just fantastic in it! I'm also very impressed with the writing in this movie, constrained and boxed in as it were by a very closed world, plots, and themes; it manages to tell a same-but-different story very well. I'll definitely watch T: DF again in the future! :D

Well, there it is... All y'all Terminator fans who didn't like this film are crazy :p

(Also, the movie probably had too many women and Latinos to interest the celler dwellers and toxics... I for one thought it was VERY refreshing that they went this way with T: DF! )

My only problem with it was that the new terminator is apparently made of paper, and is much more durable and less intelligent than a T-800. But then again, all the new movie terminators with cool abilities are made of paper and are dumb as well, so I guess I should have expected it. Also, the beginning was very edge of tomorrow-y, which is a good thing.

According to that oversized "Some Kind Of Hero" book I just read it was a conscious decision to try to out-Mission Impossible the other franchise as they felt it would work better with their long-recurring characters. I generally like the expanded roles of supporting cast in the past couple of movies but it was just them all loading up in the Mystery Machine to try and help Bond in the climax I thought felt forced.

I didn't necessarily think they were a good couple or had great chemistry, the fact that she was White's daughter was somewhat interesting but little else about her was. I just meant I liked him getting an ending that wasn't him mourning the loss of M or Vesper and instead he gets the girl. Which has never happened with Craig but happened in every Bond film ever with On Her Majesty's Secret Service being the only exception I can think of.

    Anyway we watched this tonight...

My girlfriend actually chose this one, she'd never seen it though she knows the first movie well. I love this one myself and actually prefer it to the original. I was in high school when it used to come on daily and I've watched it many times over the years. Yeah it's a little cheaper and goofier than the first (plus it's Bacon free) but I always liked it because it was a little more comedic and just more fun in tone. And it's a million times better than any of the Tremors films that came after. I only ever watch the first two. I wasn't sure how she'd like it but she was rolling off the couch laughing. Naturally she thought Burt was hilarious.

Great movie, about a group of men left unemployed after the closure of their shipyard in Spain.

@NunbNuts, this brings back memories. I once had the pleasure of subtitling Tremors into Norwegian, which was one of the easiest subtitling jobs I ever had. Very little is said in that movie, and nothing of substance... It's mainly "hurry!" and "be quiet" and "over there" and whatnot, which was laughably easy to do :D Good times. Also, the movie is very charming, although I can't remember if I've even the sequels... :)

Borat 2, disgusting humor, at one point he said he was talking to chocolate face (an African man). He makes fun of every group but it's just not my taste of humor. I just watched this mess to see why so many like it. Complete utter waste of my time. I'm not looking forward to Borat 3 because it's definitely going to be made. Unfortunately, there's an audience for this crap... and yes I endured Borat 1 & 2 never again.

I don't think it's THAT bad is it? I haven't really sat down and watched the original in maybe a year but in my mind it has a fair amount of dialogue. If anything I would have thought somebody might say there's too much comedic redneck banter and not enough giant worms eating people. :D

Just watched Breakdown, the 1997 Kurt Russell thriller that I recently discovered completely by accident, having stumbled upon the brilliant soundtrack (I'm a huge Basil Poledouris fan). Great, old school thriller. Cool stuff :)

This one and the original ar the only 2 that I like. I find this one really fun. It's funny that theses movies was originally intended to be a horror film (at least the first one)

Have my little lazy Halloween day movie marathon going (though I should do a Bond marathon in Connery's memory but it is Halloween and I'll do that tomorrow) and I'm onto Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight. I don't know how well it did at the box office but I saw it as a 14 year old in a packed theater and Billy Zane brought the house down that night. I couldn't believe it when this only went on to have a "cult" following and that Zane didn't go on to become the next Val Kilmer or whoever was huge at that time. That scene where he punches through the Sheriff's face probably got the biggest reaction I've ever seen in a theater, people screaming, laughing and yelling expletives.

Also I've always loved William Sadler and this is the only time I can remember him playing the lead role in a film. Though he may have that I don't know about, plus with the exception of Bill and Ted or Shawshank he's normally a villain. Even at the time I thought he was an odd choice for the lead but as a huge Tales From The Crypt fan it didn't escape me that he sort of started it all by starring in the very first episode of the series or that Billy Zane also starred in a great episode later on. So as a fan it felt right they were the stars even if the story didn't feel all that much like an episode of the show.

I rented this movie when it was released back in that time. It was a good surprise at the time. Never rewatched again. 23 years already!!! I'm getting old.

I've never even heard of that one but what I just read about it sounded pretty pretentious, which would explain the popularity.

I just watched this, I'm pretty sure it was an attempt to adapt a Poe story as well...

A slow winding descent into madness with two incredible actors just going full bore into it.

Still doesn't get why this is supposedly the awesomes of all awesome, but then again, I AM rather dumb...
