That really sucks. the same thing happened to me when I pre-ordered The Legends of Luke Skywalker. It came 2 weeks after release, and i was spoiled from this site because I couldn't wait to get my copy. I think Amazon is doing this to prevent customers from receiving their copies early, before the release date. If I do get my copy extremely late I might not pre-order from them again.

Edit: I pre-ordered my copy on January 20th and I should expect delivery on March 6.

In all truth I think the most interesting thing is not related to what we've actualy seen/heard about in the movie
    but this one:

The novel states once and for all that the so called Will of Force is equal to the Cosmic Force.
And it adds that both Anakin and Luke were instruments of the C.F., therefore of the Will of the Force.
So Rey is. So we have Anakin, Luke and Rey, the 3 of them as instruments of the Force Will.
    Those 3.

    To be clear...

I don't think it will be used to make Rey a Skywalker

But to me it looks like there's something that connects ep. 1, ep. 6 and Rey.

Ep 1: Obi Wan feels a disturbance in the Cosmic Force (the Will of the Galaxy).
This coincides with Anakin being found and Sidius first stages of his plot.
Ep 6: According to the TLJ novel, The will of the Cosmic Force goes asleep after the end of the Sith.
So after the battle of Endor = the death of Sidius and Anakin.
Ep 7: The Will of the Force (the Cosmic Force) awakes in Rey.

However, I don't think this is something RJ added to the story. I think this is the kind of stuff the story group
may be interested in specifying. But still it is interesting coming into IX, if IX has to be in JJ's words
a movie that gives closure to the all saga.

It is sadly true and I never thought I would come to this point. But nothing from this TLJ novel gives me hope there is anything for me in IX. I simply don't understand what they are thinking at LFL. This is just not my Star Wars anymore. Luke Skywalker was the heart of Star Wars and he is destroyed forever. :(

Disney & KK led Star Wars is not going to go the way you think, I've been a Star Wars fan since childhood, grew up on the OT, I remember going to the theater and paying full price just to see the TPM trailer, and sat through a boring film, now we got the internet, times have changed, people move on, I feel really sad for hardcore fans that don't like these new Star Wars films. Its sad that fans are not enjoying this new era of Star Wars.

As a fan who still appreciates LFL and the films that they make, it really disheartens me to read a fan's chagrin. Films are subjective, everyones comes away differently, so I respect everyone's opinion. If you don't like TLJ fine, I get it, but its really making my pleasure of the film wane. I went through this same thing with TPM. Friends left Star Wars and became Lord of the Rings fans and cursed Star Wars to no end. ( what happened to LoR? I think the Hobbit destroyed that ;)) Now some of the same fans are saying the prequels are better then the sequels... oy vey

I see the pattern and will try my best to ignore it...

the only way to make a change is to not see anymore films, don't buy the merchandise, and if a million fans do that maybe Disney will stop producing these awful films that the hardcore fans hate. If a few fans leave nothing will change.

Disney Star Wars is here to stay, if they lose a few fans along the way, the ship will still move on...

I think that's the point. The Luke in TLJ is tragic, this is meant to show what he gave up.

I really don't get this part of fandom. You see this some in DC/Marvel. It's sad if something else being good somehow means something you like is less superior. I love the Lord of the Rings and I love Star Wars. These stories aren't fighting against each other. I just recently watched the Harry Potter series for the first time. I never read the books or watched the films when they came out. The Harry Potter films are just okay (must have to read the books). Does that mean I have to go to war with the people who love it? Nope.
It's over. Well, at least until Amazon reboots it.

Don't worry, I will leave somewhere down the line. It is just that you have to throw something into the dustbin that you loved for 35 years. I don't change fandom all few years. If it is over, it is over for the rest of my life. :(

It's still very much alive in the world of gaming. Shadow of War was a pretty big video game last year, Fantasy Flight Games has a large selection of popular LOTR board games and card games.

I meant from a film standpoint. Lord of the Rings is widely considered the greatest fantasy series of all time. There's still plenty of appetite for more contact. It's only a matter of time before the stories from the Silmarillion are made into films.

A good friend, who left Star Wars during TPM days, shocked me because he sold all his Star Wars merchandise on eBay and gave the rest to me that he could not get rid of, so when he called me up to ask me if I had seen the Clone Wars animated film, with excitement mind you, I was like the critics say its awful I haven't gotten around to seeing it myself. He said you are Star Wars fan, don't listen to the critics go enjoy your Star Wars. He repeated the same when ROTS was released but this time he treated me to my second viewing.

Anyway, my point is, all these people that cry about leaving Star Wars reminds me of my good friend. i thought you was done with it? well, I guess thats what good friends do... they share the good things with you... Hoping fans will return for 9.

There is one thing that is different this time and it is not the disagreement about the story, but the attitude towards critical fans. If I'm treated this way, why should I continue spending hundreds or thousands of dollars/euros? (which I did in the past). It just let me think about these things very seriously. Ever heard the customer is king? Seems to be forgotten. :(

You might as well just put the ":(" in your signature line. It would save you some valuable time.

Because stuff like "the customer is always right" is a flawed concept to begin with. As someone who's worked in customer service before, I can absolutely testify to that. The customer is seldom right.

What is the "attitude" that you feel is being directed at you?
