Well guys, just got back from my screening of TFA and I'm pretty much fuming. Was breathing quite heavily as the credits rolled, gave a promotional board a bit of a whack on the way out, not even sure what movie it was for (could have been the hateful 8).

Looking back on it I think I scared a few people unintentionally. They were keeping their distance from me, got a few strange stares as I muttered a few disbeliefs to myself. OK, where to start?

WHAT in the hell were they thinking with Snoke? Absolute trench tier CGI, completely stood out and was distractingly bad. Finn? The awesome character in the promos? Nope...a complete joke character it turns out. Phasma? Even more of a letdown, she did literally nothing!

The biggest gripe of all, Rey defeating Ren. It just seemed COMPLETELY implausible. Oh she suddenly remembers a few years of training as a small child and is instantly uber powerful...of course! The only way this could have been believable in any way would have been if Kylo was extremely injured, like constantly holding one arm injured. Even then I'd expect him to win. He seemed able bodied enough in the film to absolutely destroy Rey. But political correctness chimed in.

Other notable mentions, another death star...no luke, piss poor pacing and more which I can't be bothered typing out.

The thing which angers me the most is that as great as Rian Johnson is, JJ has left him one helluva mess to clean up. How can you fix a terribly executed CGI villain? Well...you pretty much can't. Think I need to go take a cold shower and calm down, what the **** JJ.

Watched esb after I got home from the theater to erase my memory of this film. There is nothing rememberable about this movie.

Ha ha, I agree. Seriously? I mean, don't get angry. You could end up like Kylo swinging his sabre around trashing your room. Loved it, those Stormtroopers 'uh oh, he's kicking off again'. :D

For me, best Star Wars episode I've seen. I can't believe the fact that I enjoyed it more than ESB.
TFA is a great movie and the most spectacular one I've seen on screen by far.

MCP from Tron was more realistic and menacing.

It was great, idk what people expected JJ Abrams to do! He did exactly what I thought he would do, he made a fun, fast paced, and enjoyable film. Even had a good amount of emotion in it. It was much better than the first Star Trek he did, and I thought that movie was great. This film just needed to be very entertaining and it was, Rian Johnson is the one to build off this film and make Star Wars really great again! I personally can't wait to go to the theater and see it again

As a reply to your points. Well, first off this felt SUPREMELY like Star Wars to me.... Now to your points... Snoke was a hologram, there is a lot of fleshy realistic detail that can be achieved when he finally unholograms.... Second, Finn was funny and I think he was far from a joke. He is very interesting as he comes from a background unlike any main character before him and I found him to be quite competent. Phasma, was supremely underutilized... But that will change I believe... Didn't Boba Fett sorta just stand there initially?? Ren WAS injured... He was shot by chewy by a freaking bowcaster... There was blood falling into the snow and he seemed to be trying to hit the wound to dull the pain or prove to himself he could beat it.. I think we were given a worthy sequel, but I KNOW not everyone will think so. I am sorry you can't enjoy it too.

This film was barley better than the prequels. This flim had good acting and the dialogue wasn't bad but the music was incredibly weak for star wars. It's so generic and forgettable.

If you really think you could make a better film then you should be in Hollywood actually making them.

A false argument, since in reality a lot of talented people don't make it in the industry because of lacking connections or politics, while many lesser talented people do.

The people calling this the best Star Wars movie were probably the same people who loved TPM when it came out! When the dust settles they will realise it's average, contradictory and disappointing.

How anyone can say Snoke looks good is beyond me.

It was a Star Wars film with Han Solo, the falcon and the story from ANH so of course to many there are moments that strike accord. But given time, I think the disappointment will spread.

Not false at all. Jean-Luc Godard strongly believed that the best form of film criticism is to make a better film. (i.e., It's no use to just point out thinks you don't like, you need identify problems, then you must show how to make it better. If it's somebody else's movie, make your own.)

I learned this principle in design school, for rendering critique and evaluation professionally. (For instance, Always start critique by finding what works in a design proposal, then when you get to problems you MUST present solutions.)

Yeah, after James Holmes that's probably not a good idea to do in a packed movie theater.
I will agree that Phasma was a BIG letdown. Clearly her screen time got cut
But Rey defeating Ren does make some sense. Ren is an anti-thesis of Maul. Maul had mad skillz with his saberstaff but little in the way of force techniques. Ren literally pauses a blaster shot in midair like Neo with bullets and can force push like a sithlord.. but his dueling skills with his lightsaber are limited to wonton destruction of First Order property during his temper tantrums.
And, yeah, Kylo was pretty f$@ked up by the time he fights Rey.. bleeding gunshot wound, several lightsaber hits Finn scored on him..

I'm sure some of these negative reviewers expected to be teleported into the screen ...hitting things because of anger at a oversized hologram wow just wow I'm sure by the time the episode 8 crawl starts you will be staring in a one flew over the cuckoos nest sequel
