Hello guys, just stumbled upon article, that says about supposed Bad Batch episodes of Season 7,
which obviously got cancelled and we've got things like Son of Dathomir in comic book form, novel with Ventress and Vos + Utapau Arc.

There is another, about experimental Clone Troopers led by Rex, with supposedly revived Echo!

If it does, then I will be little pissed that some stories end up in comic and novel, outside of the Clone Wars series.
Most notably the Dart Maul part.
Even if the fan outcry because of the cancelation is loud, I don't believe they will go back and finish the series.
    Not happening.

Damn, I have just finished my rewatch of the Clone Wars and moved on Rebels, TCW is by many levels better series.
I also loved how it expanded the canonical EU, which Rebels did by adding one planet and reintroducing old designs...

Bring it on. I hated (or wanted to hate) TCW when it first came out, but grew to love it after a pretty deep jonesing for new content drug me in.

TCW is better - for now. I do admit Rebels has a weakness being stuck on Lothal, and it is a drab place, which even the characters admit to, but a season finale at MUSTAFAR. AWESOME! Plus, I like how it's first season is beating out TCW's first on many levels, but then again that was Filoni's first real venture into Star Wars with his crew. As for Bad Batch, since Lanter recorded his lines, I have a feeling the reason why Rex isn't in Episode III will be revealed. Maybe this recording is for some 2-D animation for starwars.com (It did have a ton of people watch the Utupau Crisi, unfinished as it was), and Anakin and Rex have deep chat etc, about him leaving, since Rex has a "gut feeling" or something, and him and the other clones have their brain chips removed. And after Anakin accepting their departures, we find in Rebels that the "Bad Batch", the different guys, the splinter group, helps form the military of the Rebel Alliance, working hand in hand with Fulcrum :D Wishful thinking, but there's a decent chance!

I would never say "never". Wait, you said "not". Well, same thing.

A couple of other series have ended up being finished after their cancellation, with a mini-series or full movie being released after. I'm thinking Firefly or my beloved Farscape -- The Peacekeeper Wars was a three-hour TV movie that took the place of Season 5. Both of those came about because of fan outcry.

Also I must mention Futurama, which was cancelled after four seasons, had some direct-to-video films made like five years after it was cancelled, found its way to a new season on a different channel, cancelled again, and finally found its way to two more seasons before finally ending.

I could see a direct to Netflix approach to a seventh season or series of animated films. We won't see it on a Disney network because of the Rebels conflict and I doubt Disney would allow another network to air the show. Given Disney's recent partnership with Netflix, I could see it as a possibility. I think it would be an abbreviated season like lost missions or even just a series of feature length films to round off some character arcs. A full season of Clone Wars at this point seems unreasonable given Filoni's involvement with Rebels, unless they passed the show to someone else, which I doubt they'd do. I personally would love for this to pan out though.

I keep trying to dig Rebels, but it just isn't doing it for me. And I say this as somebody who very much prefers the OT to the PT. Supposedly, Rebels is supposed to be aimed in at least the general direction of OT fans, but IMHO it pales in comparison to even the first season of TCW, before the show had really hit its stride. TCW took a lot of the best of the PT and turned it into an animated series that was often (in my opinion, at least) more compelling than the PT films themselves. Sure, there were episodes that I wasn't crazy about (many of the Padme episodes, and just about ALL of the Jar Jar ones) but overall I think it was a very strong series and one that I've got no problem keeping on my DVD shelf alongside my SW movies.

Rebels, on the other hand, just feels to me like a generic Disney cartoon that happens to include lightsabers and stormtroopers.

I'd absolutely be up for another season or even partial season of TCW, were they to put one together. As has been pointed out, though, with Filoni now on Rebels full time and Disney not apparently showing much interest in TCW from the moment they bought LFL, I wouldn't hold my breath. If it did happen, though, another Netflix exclusive would seem the most logical way to go with it.

I know what you're saying, but I'm giving it time to get to its feet. One of the big differences between TCW and Rebels really comes down to this: TCW was about a galaxy-wide war, while Rebels deals with the beginnings of what would become another galaxy-wide war. A lot to give us the action we crave. Another big difference? Basically for TCW, all the stuff was set up --including the characters-- and they could jump right into every big thing.

The Rebels needs to build all that up, and right now I see that as the main disadvantage. Optimistic for the future. :)

I hear what you're saying, but for me it's not really the scope of the conflict that pooches the deal for me as far as Rebels is concerned. I mean, when the idea was floated (at least in rumor circles) about a Star Wars TV series that took place completely in the Coruscant undercity, I thought that sounded like a great idea. As long as the personal interactions were compelling enough, even something as small-scope as that could have been fun.

My thing with Rebels is, it just feels bland and generic. The "nuclear family" dynamic among this random group of adventurers seems forced as hell and the whole thing feels like some dime-a-dozen Disney cartoon about a family full of precocious kids where somebody just dusted off an old script, wrote some Star Wars-ey stuff into it, and sold it as a new Star Wars epic. To me, it feels the least like Star Wars of any Star Wars related production since Han had to get Chewie home in time for Life Day.

Actually, the idea of an early Rebel cell on a small backwater planet is a great basis for a series. I just think they're so focused on superficial crap like endless scenes of the main characters acting like bickering "siblings" that they are missing the opportunity to write compelling stories.

Yes indeed hopefully the rebel series will be just as good, I hope their characters make a statement in the long term.

I do agree with you in general, but again I'm thinking positively in that it's probably somewhat lacking due to first season jitters, and focusing on setting up the dynamic of the crew. Other shows have had the same issue. I love Farscape, but when viewed as a whole the first season sucks as we don't see any unified story or direction until the last few episodes. Same sort of deal here hopefully.

I'm assuming you've probably seen the finale, but if not then the following is a somewhat spoiler:
With the advent of Ahsoka and Vader somewhat joining the series, along with the larger rebellion, we might perhaps see a more interesting dynamic as the general rebellion starts to form and solidify itself. I'm hoping that the protocol of keeping all the cells in the dark is abandoned going forward, and we start to see the inner workings. This might give a chance for all of them to finally grow up and act like a unified crew, removing the "precocious kids" focus we've had.

I did see the last episode (I watched the whole season, to give the show a fair shot) and while I thought it was much better than most of what had come before it, I still am not holding my breath for Rebels to grow that much beyond this forced "family dynamic" thing. I have a feeling that it's just something that comes with the territory of being under the Disney umbrella (much like the fact that damned near everyone is sporting that threadbare old "Aladdin" face that virtually every Disney character has been stuck with for the past 20 years.)

I agree, they have an opportunity now to break out of the contrived elements that I felt hampered the first season. Ditch the fake "1950s nuclear family" thing and let the characters develop their own personalities, get them the hell off of Lothal, and begin tying their adventures more closely to the Rebellion as a whole. In other words, stop making it a generic Disney cartoon and make it feel like a genuine part of the Star Wars universe. (But again... not holding my breath there.)

I read somewhere that there was supposed to be an arc with Boba and other bounty hunters but Boba was wearing the mandolrian armor and fighting. I pray to god this gets made.
