Let George Lucas co-write episode 9 with Lawrence Kasdan and get J.J. to direct it.

    Lucas dislikes his audience. There is no more place for him.

    Well hell...This is a line that is straddled by some, yet profoundly opposed by others. I'm that guy that straddles the line;

    GL is (without contestation) the father of all that is SW. I personally believe that he SHOULD have some involvement in the continuation of the saga until he dies, and Disney SHOULD NOT dismiss him with the wave of a hand...I think it'd be short-sighted and tacky of them

    He has this ENTIRE galaxy and stories in his head...he understands it, and should at least be actively consulted with the questions of the Jedi etc. As far as a script and or story(s) being written...the same...bring him in...make him at least sit on that "board of creativity" and keep him involved in some way.

    I have to say that I really wouldn't want JJ to direct another SW movie like EVER! I hate the way that TFA looks visually in ALOT of scenes. If there was one thing I loved about Lucas is that he let the look of the galaxy far far away take you over. You could see the details and enjoy the creatures, aliens and scenery around you. You couldn't see any of his 6 movies without many of these things sinking in. Who couldn't remember Hammerhead, Nabrun Leids or the Modal Nodes? Who would see TESB and not remember Bossk, 21-B or 4-LOM? What about Tessek, Oola or Ree Yees? Who couldn't remember the looks of the Ewoks or the Younglings at the Jedi temple? Even the Podracer Pilots were memorable.

    But when you see the mess that JJ made in many scenes in TFA it is really messed up. The movie starts with ships so frikin dark that you can't make out anything. Then we see a village where the darn action was so incredibly fast that nothing could catch your eye. It hurt seeing Rebels being gunned down by the AT AT's, it was sad seeing many Ewoks die, we sadly saw many Jedi die in the prequels, but what can we say about the whole village that was killed on Jakku? We barely could see anything cause it was so darn dark so why would we even care if the Stormtroopers gunned down a bunch of faceless nobodies? What about the village where Rey lived? Can we say that anything caught our fancy as it had been done before by the Cantina, Dexter's Dinner, Camino, Jabba's Palace or the Senate? Everything is just so fast that we can barely take in anything before everyone is running around like crazy.

    I loved Sarco Plank ever since I first saw him and I was really pumped to see him in the movie even if it was just seeing him a few seconds standing around yet when I saw the movie in the theatre (various times) he was not there. I have seen posts everywhere saying he was removed from the film just like Constable Zuvio yet when my sister gave me the movie on dvd/blue ray, I kept looking around till I finally found him. The action is so fast that even with slow motion you can only see him all blury.

    And what about the Knights of Ren in Rey's vision? Do you want a more messed up scene than that? Lucas would have given us a clear vision of the KOR to leave us with awe and make us wonder who those mysterious dudes were but that dark mess that JJ gave us made everything look messed up and hard to see. How many people had to watch the movie various times to finally figure out that it wasn't Constable Zuvio who Kylo Ren killed there? One lightning fast blur just like the Rathars was all that JJ gave us in many scenes that could have been epic and memorable and nothing more. Lucas is not perfect and he did indeed make many mistakes, but those pale in comparison to those that JJ Abrams made in TFA so I would gladly have George direct any SW movie instead of having to suffer another one at the hand of JJ.
