    From official info, we know Luke and Rey at least start off on a bad note with each other, as it's looking more and more likely that Luke wants nothing to do with Rey and how Rey feels comfort with Han and not Luke.

    How do you think their dynamic will work out in the film?

    I personally think they will get closer over the course of the film, Rey will bring Luke out of his depression and get him back into the game. Luke in return will train Rey on how to hone her new abilities and train her to use the lightsaber and eventually pass it on to her.

    Luke's treatment of her is the exact opposite of Han's, so Rey will be less enthusiastic about him at first. I think overtime they will form a master/student or father/daughter relationship that will carry over to IX.

    this! knowing TLJ will probably end in an unexpected and potentially dark place, i'm thinking along these lines too.
    they might struggle and finally make a tenuous connection in TLJ, but it might fall apart in the end and need to be repaired as one of the big plot points in ix.

    Just some ideas. Not saying I want this to happen, or will happen:

    After an awkward meetup on Ahch-To, Rey will persuade Luke to train her, especially with Kylo Ren's power increasing and the death of Han Solo. Luke has sensed these events through the Force and is obviously saddened. Luke is relunctant to train Rey, but eventually concedes as he realises he is getting older and that there's noone else left to challenge the Dark Side.

    As the training commences and progresses, Rey becomes stronger. Luke, still apprehensive, is reminded with memories of his failure with Ben Solo and ends the training early before Rey completes it, because he is afraid of history repeating itself again. "It's time for the Jedi to end" he announces, hoping to break the cycle. Perhaps he thinks the Force will self-rectify itself into a new balance, without aid from the Jedi. That would mean that with no continuation of the Jedi Order, Luke is and remains the last Jedi.

    As for the "is Luke Rey's father?" question moment, I don't think it will be until the end of the film. You don't just meet someone and say "You're my daughter", it would be very weird. That moment should happen at the end of the film after Luke and Rey have bonded more, won a victory of some kind, or had a loss. But that's if Luke is even her father. But that's another thread topic....

    I voted the second one, judging by the second trailer he has a lot of work to do to turn her into the next generation of jedi, but he sames patient in taking her through the training steps.

    I think they are going to start off with a rocky relationship but it will get better as the movie progresses.
