A few years ago on here, my best friend at school went missing for 48 hrs and I was s scared, you guys on here helped through this event. Today I discovered she had passed away. I don't know how and what's happened but all I know is that I am completely heart broken. I had to let this out some where. I'm not really in contact with any of my school friends, I'm so cut off, I needed to have a cry and let it out. Please forgive me if this is wrong place but I didn't know where else to turn :'(

 

This is a perfectly fine place to put it as far as I am concerned. I pray for peace in your heart because time helps ease the pain, but the loss will always be there. We never stop missing those who pass that we love, we just come to a peace with it. I've said it before, but I'll repeat it, just in case... If you ever need an ear or just a place to drop a rant for any reason, my in-box is open.

Thanks for your kind words. I just feel so numb now. I've lost family but there deaths weren't shocking. This, well this is a first for me, Someone the same age, some one I went to school with. I knew she had her problems but it still feels like a bolt from the blue. She came to my house for birthdays, we went bowling together. We sat next to each other at primary school, we chatted through English and Science classes at senior school - getting told off for not paying attention. I can't believe she's gone. The feeling is just so strange and weird. It feels like such a huge loss even though I have not seen her in years.

This morning @Maximus, @The Hud and I had a little chat about how a vending and a coffee machine next to my office that provide substance before going online and visiting the Cantina at the start of the day. It came to my mind then that there’s another machine nearby, next to my desk. Or as Thor puts it: ”He's a friend from work“. So as some SW nerds might be interested in droids… meet Eddie – the Dude’s co-worker.

That thing is THE kids magnet. My company hosted a LEGO League event last Saturday and Eddie was also present. We had to hide him in a corner so that at least some of the audience stayed at the competition tables, there was always a flock around him when not powered down.

 

also a magnet for 43yr olds i'll think you'll find... i'd be part of that flock !

and (just for the fun), have you ever thought of painting him in ... gold with one silver leg (and a red arm if you want too)

 

the gentleman inside of me is desperate to say that i would.... but i'm pretty sure i'd have my elbows out and be knocking over anyone in my way

Hehe, that would make for a nice color change, although he has no legs but wheels.

So ‘Goldenrod’ would be the correct naming then I guess. Let’s see what my colleagues think about the proposal…
