Who here's favorite is Return of the Jedi from the Original Trilogy? I personally love the movie and is the best out of the OT. I like how it wraps up the trilogy perfectly. I mean, how does one not like the movie?

You are not alone. I remember waiting for years for the payoff after the big "reveal" in Empire. (No spoilers!). Was not disappointed. Ewoks be damned, I love this movie with a thousand yubnubs.

Haha I've actually never had a problem with the little furry Ewoks. Now Gungans is a whole 'nother story

I just ate a Gungan for breakfast...with shallots and a tangy hollandaise. A bit stringy.

I will always love it most because the ROTJ Novel was the first SW stuff I got in my hands. Especially the father son story arc touched me deeply.

I haven't seen this film in like 4 months! MUST. WATCH. AGAIN. This thread has made me want to watch it right now, and thats what I'm going to do! Such an amazing film and wraps up the OT like no other movie could. Do prefer ESB though. They are all such masterpieces :D (emperor)(at-st)(duel)(ackbar)

RoTJ completed Luke's arc in the perfect way and when he duels Darth Vader, there's so much weight and emotion in the scene. Especially when Vader brings up Leia and it shows how easy it is for the darkness to creep in as Luke goes ham on Vader. Such a good movie.

Ever since I was a little kid I have loved ROTJ as my all time favorite OT SW movie. It's just so awesome and it has everything that makes SW epic. Wonderful space battles, fantastic aliens, great character arcs and an awesome redemption moment that's just perfect. Many fans consider the reveal of Vader being Luke's father as the most memorable moment of the OT but to me it was that crowning moment of ''Luke, help me take my mask off'' followed by ''Just for once let me look on you with my own eyes.'' Oh man that is just so emotional and mind blowing! To this day that scene is just so powerful!

ROTJ for all it's flaws (admittedly some are very nitpicky); rehashed the Death Star, made Leia and Luke kissin siblings, ewoks, Boba Fett....It also had some of the best stuff from the OT.
The best space battles, the chase scene on Endor, Luke vs Vader, Jabba's Palace, great ending point for a trilogy with completed arcs, redemption, betrayal, Harrison Ford feeling up Carrie Fisher....so much good stuff.

It's a very good movie, but . . . it does have its flaws. It's probably my least favorite of the six movies made by Lucas.

In what world is this film worse than TPM where half of it is spent by Gungans running around wreaking havoc on the streets of Naboo, and AOTC where we see the one and only soon to be Darth Vader crying about EVERYTHING THAT COMES HIS WAY.(pod)(anakin)

Edit: (In TPM: The Darth Maul scene is pretty good, and I don't even mind the pod race!) (In AOTC: The Tusken Raider Scene is pretty cool though, alongside battle of Geonosis and the Obi vs Jango scene!)
I won't lie to you guys I don't even mind these films so much, and I am normally a defender of the prequels (to some extent.) its just one cannot compare this: (droideka)(pod)(amidala) (and even this(dual)(vicious))
To this: (duel)(emperor) (ackbar)(Even arguably these little guys(ewok)!)

I remember the anticipation of waiting to see ROTJ in May 1983. I was so mad that my older sister went and saw it before me and had to wait to see it with my parents. My sister kept teasing me that "Darth Vader dies, Darth Vader dies!"
I remember sitting in my seat in a sold out theater and seeing the iconic "Lucasfilm" in shimmering green lettering and everyone in the theater yelling and clapping and of course the opening crawl and then just blown away by the opening scene with the passing imperial star destroyer and the shuttle launching from underneath.
    I was 8.

One thing that recently came to mind was Leia just agreeing to follow a teddy bear around the woods instead of insisting on returning to the Pathfinders to continue the mission. She takes a complete detour to chill with the locals which doesn't seem in character. She's the one of the trio that is always 'on-mission' for the Rebellion. It may be a nitpick but...it strikes me as odd now.

I'm inclined to think it was survival instinct. She was fairly lost at that point and making friends with a local is probably the best way to get out of there survived.

Ewoks. Death Star II. There are times where Jabba looks quite bad even for the time.
Luke/Leia sibling reveal. The Special Edition nightmare.

    But that's about it.

It's also my favorite of the films as well.

However, my nitpicks have to do more with the godawful CGI musical number in Jabba's Palace.

Oh god. That is the only time in the OT I literally have to fast forward through an entire scene because it's painful to watch

As much as I try to like Ewoks, I think they went a little too far making them primitive, and I have to admit that some of their scenes seem kind of like filler material. BUT everything else about ROTJ is utterly fantastic. It is exciting and emotional. The ending of ROTJ isn't just the best ending of any Star Wars movie - it is the best ending of ANY movie. (And I'm okay with the addition of Hayden.)

ROTJ has the best moments of the OT, but it also has the least-good moments of the OT.
