As much as I love Jedi (and I really do love it, not just saying that) I think it has aged the worse out of the OT. In my rating I put Revenge of the Sith on equal ground if not just above Jedi, I think the bad parts of Jedi have aged very poorly where as the good parts of ROtS have aged well. Again I'm not saying Jedi is bad or even close to bad, it features some of the best space battle sequences as well as fantastic character moments for the entire cast its just the small things that drag the movie down.

It was a impressive conclusion to the trilogy, in the end the jedi won.....for now.

Return of the Jedi has been seen as a more friendly Star Wars film which honestly think about it. Compared to Empire Strikes back it is more friendly but a lot of people die in that film and not just from being shot or in a explosion, Jabba gets choked to death and Boba gets eaten alive, Palpatine gets thrown into a reactor and Vader dies from electrocution and losing support from his suit, he died slowly. Even if death isn't enough, there's a lot of scary moments as well, the Rancor and Palpatine himself.

I think it's such a good way to end Star Wars. It almost makes me wish The Force Awakens didn't exist not because I hate that film or anything, but it's because ROTJ had such a big happy ending, even bigger and meaningful than A New Hope, so now we just skip all the way to the grim future where Luke, Leia, Han the rebellion, all their sacrife and effort meant nothing in the long run. I'm not against the sequel and the upcoming films but it saddens me that biggest most happy ending in Star Wars wasn't really a happy ending.

ROTJ is my favorite Star Wars movie because there are many scenes I love so much.

    1) Luke vs Vader (A Jedi's Fury)
    2) The best space battle in the whole saga => The battle of Endor
    3) The Emporer testing Luke Skywalker
    etc.

I don't mind the Ewoks, I actually like them.

If you were lost in a jungle and found by a cute, cannibalistic, savage, warrior like teddy bear would you be like "Hey little guy I have some friends I need to see so I'll just leave". No cos you don't want to disrespect that wee guy, he and his race will f@&* you and your friends up and eat you all. #EwoksSupremeWarriors

ROTJ is probably my least favorite of the originals, however, there are moments in it that are favorites, and there are nuances that I find in it that are quite brilliant if you look at it a certain way, like the ewoks that so many people look down upon, and yet, are quite cheesy. The fact that they use primitive technology to do what they do was a brilliant device, it's just so well, having Chewbacca do a Tarzan yell? A bit much. Hey, my screen name is from it as well. And Jabba. I love Jabba, not like Diego Luna loves him. It just has so much cheese, it's fun though. A lot of it was great fun. I think of the 3 films, it was the most fun, but as a movie, it doesn't hold up to the others as well as to being a great movie. And Luke finally gets to be a BAMF.

    Swap the Ewoks for Wookies.

Have the opening make more sense in regard to the goofball plan of sending everyone separately in waves to Jabba's palace.

Burn the Jedi Rocks sequence with fire.

Then it would be on the level of Empire. Still a great SW film, though.

Would've been interesting to see Luke go to the Emperor in Coruscant, then known as Had Abbadon.

I was really upset when I read that Wookies would have been much more expensive then Ewoks.... I got over it. I've grown to love the Ewoks, even love the new blinking they added. Leia meeting Wicket is one of my fav scenes.

Let me repeat myself. I feel that "Return of the Jedi" is my least favorite movie made by Lucas.

If my opinion clashes with yours . . . too bad.

Survival basically; he's got to have access to water, or eat him, lol.

Wookies can fly/repair ships, fix C3PO, they're technically inclined. The ewoks are primitive. But for anyone who hasn't noticed and I don't want to be the Cpt. Obvious THAT-GUY in the room but some never made the connection: ewoks are like reverse wookies. Whereas the ewoks are short, wookies are tall. Ewoks have short fur, wookies' fur is longer. And more reverse "Ewok" is + or - wookie backwards.

Some RL friends thought instead of C3PO being a god the ewoks should have seen Chewbacca as one but still needs a translator.
It was the underdog film Lucas said somewhere - the supporting characters have their moment. Leia kills Jabba, Lando leads the assualt on DS II, ewoks against the technical Empire, C3PO bridges the ewoks to help.
Overall I liked ROTJ. When Vader grabs the Emperor and lifts him over his head the packed theater was on their feet hollering like a sporting event.

Lucas originally wanted Spielberg to direct Jedi, he probably could have made a better film, but maybe not. He could have pulled off the ewoks better because he’s steven spielberg

He wanted it on Had Abbadon but he had budget limitations and the limits of vfx. This is understandable because at that time, he didn’t have that money to do it. He said in the making of ROTJ by Rinzler that he wanted to do the bigger movie but couldn’t logistically do it. Still would’ve been cool to see that.

I think Jedi is mostly great. Jabba’s rescue plan is great, goofy but great and the first hour is terrific. Always felt the film slowed down too much with the ewok bed time stuff but the film picks up again when Luke and Leia talk.

The reason why Jedi is great to me is that the conflict with Luke and Vader and the Emperor, could have taken place anywhere, with or without death star and it would have had the same resolution.

Beside the the B-Wing, Lambda-class shuttle is classic. They don't make ships like they used to.

Fantastic film & is the first SWFILM I remember seeing at the cinema. Can still remover queuing out side the cinema with my best friend to see it. It also has the best space battle squenc of the OT.

I also got to watch TFA & R1 in the same cinema which was pretty cool

I love the first act (minus the special editions) and the third act. The middle has always dragged for me though (the Keebler elf stuff) and that’s why it’s only my third favorite. It has some of my favorite moments from the entire franchise, but the pieces don't equal a whole for me.
Makes me misty eyed every time. “I’m not crying! You’re crying! Shut up!”

Even when it has some stuff that I could live without, I guess I love this movie a lot due to some stuff:

    - Leia trying to rescue Han. I sigh every time she tells Han "Someone who loves you".
    - Leia killing Jabba
    - Luke cool fighting over the Sarlacc
    - Certain overrated bounty hunter being again (see Star Wars comics) beaten by a blind guy
    - The Emperor!! Certainly Palpatine ruled.
    - Anakin's ultimate sacrifice - though my biggest gripe is that his daughter was not there to witness his redemption!!! Grrr.
    - The ending at the Victory Celebration, which has become even more endearing a) after watching The Force Awakens, knowing what is coming later for our dear heroes and b) after watching Rogue One, thinking that sadly, many gave their lives for the Rebellion and were not able to see the end of the Empire.
