I thought you get trophies also when you get likes and you make posts or you upload pics, when you make new threads etc. And the bigger trophies are like bonus when you achieve something, like 1500 likes. Is it only when you get the trophies listed in the link? If that's the case than it's all my confusion. I see also that the trophies number didn't move at all.
If what you wrote is really the case than your leveling system is not that meaningful. You may think of some revision.

When I see the notification - earned 1, earned 2 etc. what does it mean? earned trophies or credits or ?

 

Are you for real? What is it with you and and the Likes?

You needn't worry about your reward. If Credits is all that you love, then that's what you'll receive ;D relax!

 

OK one more question - how do you calculate the ratings? From yesterday 1254 to today's 1281 the progress bar is at 43%. I am really confused - how many points are needed for the next level?

According to this below, I need to reach 3500 points to be Rebel general and 5000 points to get the next level. But it doesn't match.

To be honest with you I was thinking that the ratings and trophies are to promote the activeness of the patrons and to motivate them to post more, to rate more and to upload files. To support pro-activeness, not passiveness. Which must be the goal of the forum if it wants to be successful.

After the discussion here from yesterday with the highly respected mods who turn the discussion into a joke, I don't really care. It seems to be a stupid joke with the patrons.

There is something fishy in your system and it stinks a lot! Instead of joking with me better look in your site. Or once you reached your status you stopped caring?!

Forum rating system need better explanation.

So, the way it works.

Rebel commander need 2000 trophies.
Rebel general need 3500 - so 1500 trophies more ( but there are a lot of small trophies to earn in this range so it goes faster )
Rebel official 5000 - so 1500 trophies more ( there are no small trophies to earn, so it goes slower, much slower )

if you take 5000 - 4142 = 858
858/1500 = 57% so it is matching my progress indicator 43%

Everything seems to be alright.

 

Don't mix trophies with trophypoints, they are not the same!

The main reason we are here ofcourse, is to share our love of Star Wars!

I have always viewed the whole reward-thing as a nice side gesture.
It is easy to get swept away by initial success (it took me only 8 months to get my first 10.000 positives!).
It's fun, but don't let it (or the apparent lack thereof) get in the way of your enjoyment here.
Don't be too eager to climb through the ranks!
Remember, the brightest flame burns quickest!

Besides... the journey here is more important than "the destination"!

It should be our interactions that reward and drive us, not the amount of trophies or likes we've received.

And the SW-based wink-wink-nudge-nudge jokes are a well-used method on this forum to convey a certain message in a playfull way!
Generally it is a preferred method, instead of just bluntly saying you should (for instance) tone it down a little and relax about it.
(an accompanying is another indicater that it is meant well!) It is meant to keep things lighthearted!
Star Wars discussions can be devisive enough on their own, so let us keep things a bit friendly.

@DarthSnow is not someone I know to be condescending, or to use these kind of "jokes" in a derogatory way.
He truly means well!

I get the feeling you sometimes have a tendency to take things a bit too literally and serious.
Relax, don't be too quick to judge (or anger).

I understand English is far from being your native language (it isn't mine either), so it is even more important that you read carefully before jumping to conclusions and judge people (or ratingsystems for that matter) accordingly!
If you are in any doubt, just ask!
There are always Staff-Members, Mods and plenty of forum-members that are willing to answer any questions you might have!

Toxic forums (wether about Star Wars or not) on the internet are legion.
This is why most of us try hard to prevent the same thing from happening here!
It doesn't always goes as planned and some might not be as committed to reach that goal, but nonetheless we should never stop striving!

In a way we are most fortunate! We are fans of a movie franchise with a rich lore, filled with wisdom that can be used as lifelessons!
"Don't give in to fear and anger.", "Exercise patience" and "When you learn to calm your mind, the whill of the Force shall be revealed!"
In other words: when you're calm, it's easier to see things clearly...

So stay calm, enjoy the community for what it is and be mindful of the moment.

They could have explained it since the beginning, I didn't need a joke, an explanation of how things work will do much better. I guess not everyone knows it, so they just try to be funny instead

I have asked politely in the beginning. It was looking strange, so why not to ask? Is there something wrong in my first question?

Try telling something to a mod here and lets see how it goes. If you don't agree with him 100% and don't polish his ego just wait to see.

You are right it doesn't impact me at all. Yet the experience was unpleasant. This could go much better if you are such a pleasant community as you say. Yet I have to admit partially the mistake is mine because I asked.
I really thought there is something wrong with the site, didn't expected such response at all. Until this I didn't had a reason to complain about anything.

 

If being called a padawan is upsetting to you, IDK what to say truthfully.

I literally have a running joke with the late great @DarthSnow being deceased because I know they're the kind of person who is of a good nature and well meaning.
