I think it could be epic! I've always been a fan of Liam Neeson and of Qui-Gon Jinn. It would be cool to see him in his own adventure without a teenage queen, an adolescent Anakin Skywalker and the galaxies most annoying and infamous Gungan. So much would depend on the story of course, but IMHO I think Qui-Gon is a strong enough character to carry his own film.

A Qui-Gon/Mace Windu buddy film could be cool.

Nice! They could definitely pull that off. I was going to go on and lament in my post that they'll not be able to have Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan due to Ewan McGregors being to old to play his padawan. But Qui-Gon and Mace Windu? That'd be the Star Wars equivalent to Murtagh and Riggs! Lol! Very cool indeed!

I'd definitely be interested in it. I wonder though how the relative ages of people would play into things. He'd be a good, what, 20 years older?

Also, it'd be interesting to see if they would get Christopher Lee again, or went with someone else given his age.

Edit: JEEZ, i just realized TPM is almost 20 years old. Yikes.

I had that thought in my head, but then Qui-Gon would seem to be the same age or even older than his mentor.

Slightly off-topic, but are spin-offs to be taken as canon or like a movie version of Legends?

Although it wasn't stated in the films just how long Dooku had been out of the Jedi Order. It could work with only references to him.

Good point. Then they'd just need a bit of makeup to youthen Liam a bit. Or some CGI could work I suppose.

Why not? The man's an incredibly talented actor. Just give him a good director and script, and we're all set!

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for a ransom, I can tell you I don't have credits. But what I do have, is Jedi training. Jedi training, that I have mastered over a very long career, training that makes me a nightmare for scum & villainy like you. If you let my Padawan go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But, if you don't - I will look for you, I will find you, and I will sever your limbs with my lightsaber then force push what's left of you down a bottomless pit in some wierd tech room on Naboo.

I think I'd rather see a trilogy of Qui-Gon novels. He's so complex of a character,I don't think a film would do him justice.

I'd like some books to explore Qui-Gon's younger days and how he learned of Life after Death.

If the Qui Gonn spinoff is to be made, I would love to see the relationship between him and Dooku explored, maybe some insight into why Dooku eventually left, like different ideologies, practice, etc? Also, no other padawan BS. I like the idea of Jinn having Obi-Wan as not his first apprentice, with Feemor as his apprentice, showing how Jinn with his less-maverick-teachings in his earlier years were successful, but I intensely dislike Xanatos. Becoming a Sith/Dark Jedi, being a snob, etc, it for me, as a little kid, ruined Qui-Gonn for a good two years. A nod to a young Kenobi initiate, with a little thought and glance by Qui-Gonn towards Kenobi and his strength and future would make me so happy. Noticing Kenobi, explaining more about him and Dooku, a bit of Dooku and his AOTC side/leave of the Jedi Order, and a whole lot of the living force vs. Jedi and Jedi technology dependence would be an awesome concept to show on film. And Neeson is just a superb actor, so another time with Jinn is a good idea to consider.
