Ewan McGregor has done some interviews without a beard recently, and he looks young enough. And de-aging actors by even just a few years is seen frequently enough that I doubt that would be a problem.

Yes epic ness! Qui gon is a character that absolutely needs to be fleshed out. He was a pioneer of new thinking in The Jedi Order. If only Mace Windu and Yoda listened to him during his life.

I would be interested in a Qui-Gon movie.

If nothing else, at least it would put an end to all the murmurs like, "Liam Neeson was so ashamed of Episode I that he threatened to retire from acting." To be clear, I don't think those rumors are true, nor do I think Episode I is anything to be ashamed of. I'm just saying that I've heard rumors like that.

I know that de-aging technology has made a lot of progress but I think it would still be hard to do a prequel for him.

I for one don't like the idea. I dislike the idea of watching movies about characters that we all ready know how they die. Why not see movies about awesome characters that can be expanded upon like Bossk, Ahsoka, Sidon Ithano who we know are alive and well? We might enjoy a movie about Shaak Ti given the fact that her death is not clear. But why see a movie about Porkins or Ello Asty when we all know how they ended up? While I'm one of the fans who loves the prequels, it surprises me how many prequel haters are always claiming for more and more prequels. Fans wanted to know more about Boba Fett and now they hate it. Fans wanted to know how Anakin fell to the dark side and now they hate it as well so why want a Qui Gon movie where Disney is going to make him into an inmortal ultimate fighting machine that can stop lasers with his thoughts just so we can see him bite it in his duel with Darth Maul. The character is cool as it is now but if they make him into another Kylo Ren or Rey in terms of power, it's going to make him look like a sucker in TPM.

There are two problems with a Qui Gon spinoff:

Problem # 1: It will have to be a prequel to TPM because the man got killed in that movie.

Problem # 2: Liam Neeson is noticeably older than he was in TPM.

While I love this idea, I think something like this is better suited for a novel.

Don't mean to be a buzz-kill, but Disney and Kathy are over the prequels and want to forget them. I mean, look at The Force Awakens; they want to keep as far away as possible and make sure nothing goes wrong by essentially putting the Original Trilogy in one film and calling it a sequel.

... Asides from that, I would love to see it!

I'd be more willing to go see a Qui-Gon Jinn film than a Han Solo one which I don't really care about.

Qui-Gon was one of the few interesting characters who also died too early for my taste. And I really prefer a Qui-Gon movie rather than a Maul one (we know more about Maul from animation series).
And definetly we need a SW Story from a Jedi perspective. Too much to tell from the order during important events.

Jinn was a cool character, but he thought he was very dull and wooden. I find it hard to imagine a whole movie about him unless there was another strong character with him to balance him out.

In complete fairness, just about everything was dull and wooden about TPM outside of Pod Racing

If they ever did make a Qui-Gon movie, I have a funny feeling it will be set in his youth. So Neeson would have to be de-aged or not involved (unfortunately).

Qui-Gon Jinn is, to me, perhaps the most important Jedi when you consider the totality of his role, during and after his life...

...to quote Wookipedia (the "canon" version of this article):

"In death, Jinn was able to utilize his incomplete immortality training to return as a disembodied voice. His spirit spoke to Yoda, the Grand Master of the Jedi Order, and told Yoda he was chosen to learn the secrets of eternal life. This set Yoda off on a journey, where he began to learn the training that Jinn himself had gone through. After the fall of the Jedi Order, Jinn guided Yoda and Kenobi, both of whom learned to physically manifest as spirits to aid Luke Skywalker in becoming a Jedi Knight." (source: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Qui-Gon_Jinn)

Some more possibilities regarding a future Qui-Gon Jinn film:
    • A full-length standalone ("anthology") animated film featuring him and Obi-Wan, both using original actors for voice-overs.
    • A post-ROTS standalone ("anthology") Obi-Wan (played, of course, by Ewan McGregor) film including (unseen Force spirit) voice-acting of Liam Neeson, where, in addition to some adventure(s)/challenge(s) Obi-Wan must work through, Qui-Gon Jinn begins to relate to him some of the deeper mysteries of the Living and Cosmic Force and goes on to reveal the prospect of Jedi Sprit immortality.

Is Qui-gon worth an enitre movie? He was probably the dullest character in any of the movies. His puropse in the movies was solely to convince Obi-wan to train Anakin (and to come back in ep III in one of the most deus ex of deus ex scenes ever).

    Disney Studios:

Receptionist (on phone): "Hello, Disney Studios. How may I help you today?"

Liam Neeson (on phone): "I have several unique skills and I advise you to start pre-production on a Qui-Gon Jinn anthology film. If you do not follow this advice, I will find you and I will kill you." *hangs up*"

    Receptionist: *gulps*

Qui Gon was one of the best prequel characters. I'm not sure what we could see though, especially now that Liam Neeson is almost 20 years older. I think maybe as a voice in an Obi Wan movie? Hmm.
