I know this is at once totally unimportant and incredibly nerdy and I feel like I should apologize in advance to even making this post, but this needs to go somewhere
I am packing my books for my move next month.

I stated before I am not a collector... that was not quite right. I collect books. So so many books...

And some of them I have had for a very long time. In fact for so long, that I forget that I own them.
Of course, there are some that are really old, like several original prints of classic German communist literature I quasi inherited from my grandparents, but the real treasure is this book that I just found, tucked away in a dark corner:

    DSC_0475.JPG

A 1994 publication of the complete novelization of the OT in German.

This books has been read so many times, it's being kept together by tape and my undying love, really.

I am just so completely unreasonably, nerdily happy right now :D

That is too cool. I have to imagine its a collector's item, or at the very least, a rare find.

Maybe it is, I don't think so, but I will need to do some work to keep the cover in place ;)
THis book has accompanied me through each of my six or seven moves in the last twenty years. :) it's like my personal tasliman.

Don't put any glue or tape, or anything on it. That's a cardinal rule of collecting old things. Don't fix them up. It devalues them, unless they're intended for use.
And if that's the case, if you want to read it, or give it to a younger generation, then by all means patch it or better yet take it to a bookbinder (they still exist).
You can get acid-free envelopes and boxes to store things like this in, it will keep if from deteriorating as most modern paper products are not good for old books and photos, it can ruin the pictures. I get mine from a store called Exposures.

    What a cool find!
