For some reason I never really thought about it before, but where was the location of Luke's training temple?

We see it in flashbacks, but never get a planet name. I consulted the Ultimate Guide and, according to Pablo Hidalgo, Luke kept the temple's location a "strict secret."

So where do we think this was? A place we know? Maybe even a place from Legends? Or someplace entirely new?

If I were a betting man, I'd put my credits on Lothal. It's strong in the force and home to an ancient temple. The glimpse we get in the TLJ flashback shows a grassy landscape that wouldn't be inconsistent with Lothal. Not to mention, if the new cartoon series takes place between RotJ and TFA, this could be a great Rebels tie-in.

    That's my speculation. What's yours?

Probably somewhere new. I don’t think the saga movies seem all that interested in tying in to the larger canon.

I believe it could be the Temple of Eedit on the planet Devaron.

This thought crossed my mind as well. But since we don't get any specifics in TLJ, there's nothing to stop Filoni and his crew from saying "Mine!"

I asked one time Pablo Hidalgo about that, he told me that we don't know yet.

I'm not sure we will have the answer or in books.

    Devaron likely.

It has a temple constructions referenced in other sources that quite resemble those in the film.

And, (whoever bought DVD-Blue Ray watch Luke - Ben goodnight scene, ) it has 2 moons visible at the nigh sky (one large one small,or distant)

    Devaron has 2 moons.

Good catch on the moons! Devaron would be an intriguing choice. I like that it would still keep things in the cartoon ballpark, since we've really only seen it in Clone Wars so far.

If Disney is following legends Kashyyyk maybe weak in the Force because there r very few Force using Wookiees.

We don’t know because they don’t know.

They didn’t even plan arcs for main characters, you think they have stuff like this planned?? Hahaha

I'm pretty sure it's a new place and it's possible they don't know what it is yet. They will name it and build the lore around it once they start exploring this stuff in canon. I'm both curious and nervous about it, because it's a fascinating part of the story and I don't want them to waste the potential.

Can we get Luke's exploration of the galaxy for Jedi lore in a form of a video game, please? We need some more interactive story experiences from Star Wars.

Gee, that's what I would love the most... Kind of unrealistic, though. I feel like the idea of canon kills a lot of video game potential. It would have to be linear to preserve continuity.

Personally, I'd be fine with being told: "look, this is the canon version of what happens in the game, but you can also do this, this and this as a sort of fantasy scenario." Make a game and then release a novelisation of the story and add a comic book adaptation to it. That would make everything clear and would be pretty cool thing.

I think the status of what's canon and what's not isn't really an issue. Well, it wouldn't be an issue if we actually got some SW games that aren't multiplayer shooters... Why can't we get some linear action game? Or even an open-world RPG?

Well, I think it is an issue if they're aiming at maintaining continuity across narratives. Which is something they've been doing so far. They can't do an RPG in which you can develop the character and shape the events of the story the way you want (and that's essential in RPG games) unless they separate it from everything else. Which is difficult... I'd be cool with games being a grey area when it comes to canon, but they might want to avoid confusion. And if we're talking about Luke's temple appearing in a game, it definitely has to be rock-solid canon, it's too crucial for the main storyline from the films.

I do think they'll find a way to take liberties with canon when it comes to games. It's too much of a limitation in this medium and if they want to deliver what the players want, they have to work around it.

Linear could be fun. Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy are linear and they're still in my top 5 Star Wars games. I'm curious if that would work in this day and age, because there's a lot of freedom in modern games.
