    If you squint, maybe.

But mostly if you forget these are clones of this guy:

Thread_ Jango Fett - Unmasked.jpg Captain Rex and Commander Cody Take Spotlight in Star Wars_ The Clone ___.jpg

But hey why not. It goes right with the rumor that MsV is playing Boba Fett.

If we're gonna be stupid, might as well go the distance.

    Haha are you being sarcastic?

There is a pretty major example of JJ casting his white homeboy to play what was previously a Latino character....

And he rightfully got a lot of flack for it.

And I honestly don't think MVS is going to be a clone, but you gotta stop with your smarter than everyone act, especially when you are so off on your logic.

    Nice. Lmfao

Wrong. Kahn Noonien Signh was a w modified middle super human of primarily middle eastern descent, played by a Latino character

They tried to get Benecio Del Toro to play him in the new film, which would have worked really well but they ended up going with what they could get and ultimately not caring because they had no respect for a series they admittedly didn't even watch much of before hence them making Star Trek more like Star Wars where wild coincidences are happen regularly because destiny controls everything, and it's all about adventures and fun.

Here's the thing: None of the new cast members really look exactly like the old ones. Some of them are very close, but they're all basically poor caricatures of the original cast basically doing their best impression possible, except Uhura, Chekov and Sulu who superficially resembles the past incarnations of the character at best.

Benedict Cumberkhan is a thing that happened because they wanted the best possible actor they could get to play such a menacing villain and didn't care one bit about whether they were faithful to the source.

And for [removed curse word] sake dude, Max Von Sydow is one of the most respected actors in film history. There's no way he would even have signed on this thing to play a god damn aged clonetrooper, or that they would even consider such a dumb idea in the first place.

MOD (Voxx) Edit: please do not use the "F" word. You have been warned of this before.

Who are you to say? Obviously they don't just call him up and say "hey, you wanna play an old soldier?" and leave it at that. He might very well choose to play such a character if the role (which even were it a clonetrooper, we don't know what his role would be) appealed to him. TCW showed that not all clones were made the same, and thus not all mindless. Some, like Rex, garnered a lot of respect from the community.

I'll note too that he hasn't had any qualms with getting into other, "less respectful" things like lending his voice to movies like Ghostbusters II (Vigo) or games like Skyrim (Esbern).

The correct spelling of the character's name is Khan Noonien Singh.

Khan Noonien Singh was from India.

India is not located in the Middle-East.

    India, is located in Asia.

Did you really compare him taking s role in Ghostbusters 2, which with all it's failings was a shockingly poor sequel to a very well received and critically acclaimed science fiction comedy, to the idea of Max Von Sydow playing an aged clonetrooper?

One is him doing the voice for a film that ended up being bad, the other is him taking a role in a film that totally sounds like a stinker.

Hello, it's Max Von Syndow, a tall gangly elderly ginger with a very distinctive accent playing a clone of a guy that is a short and stock Maori native. I repeat: Max Von Sydow as an elderly Pacific Islander.

That's the kind of white washing we haven't seen since John Wayne played Ghengis Khan.

They might as well get Patrick Stewart to play an old Captain Panaka and get and Ian Mckellan to play Captain Typho and invite Billy Dee Williams back to play this guy:

Ahem, if I might reiterate my point, I wasn't arguing the logic or lack thereof in him playing the clone of Fett.

I was arguing that he might choose to perform in such a role were they to ask him to (despite the aforementioned logical issues) and he found it appealing to him, nothing more than that. Trust me, great actors always have those roles that one questions their reasons for taking.
