no more dead heroes. one is more than enough.

that said, i'm okay with Snoke and Hux dying.
though Hux has been strangely growing on me lately. might need to spray.

I voted for Kylo.

Hate to lose him. Great actor, great character, great visual and I really hope to see him became the main villain of the entire ST.

Luke (my favorite character) will be cool to see him dying at the end of ep. VIII, wish to see.him as a force ghost in the final chapter.

 

i voted for characters on the cusp. no point throwing away a vote on Rey; she'll live for sure ~ hahaha

 

Everyone can die except for Snoke and Hux. They interest me the most.

I have a bad feeling about this.

Let's hope the script witers aren't big Game of Thrones fans, because then we're really in trouble.

As much as I don't want it to happen, for a few reasons I think there is potential to lose Luke and Leia over the next couple of films. In the same way Padme's death cemented Anakin to the darkside, I think Leia's death could possibly irrecovably bind Kylo to the light. Leia's committed to bringing about a just and democratic galaxy, but would she sacrifice all that to save her son? How powerful would that be? A Jedi is supposed to not have attachments in order to help them make the 'right' choice in these sorts of situations, but how Jedi is Leia? Would Leia making the very unJedi choice of putting her son before all else have the potential to redeem her son and save the galaxy, and thus be the 'will of the force' and the reason she was never led down the path of becomming a Jedi? It would tie in to the theme of the conflict between duty and love, and its a subtle twist to the redemption theme to have a parent be the catalyst for redemtion of a child, as opposed to the child redeming the father.

It may also suit Disney to kill off the OT characters, as this could be symbolic of them taking over SW and give them the freedom to go in new directions with new characters.

 

Considering how "enthusiastic" Hux was during his Starkiller weapon speech. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sent to an insane asylum by the end of the trilogy.

You're probably right about Snoke.
However, our heroes could stop him by taking away his force sensitivity.
It's a way to introduce another new force ability, and it offers a unique end to the main villain that doesn't involve killing him in cold blood.

They'd both probably end up getting executed by the resistance anyways due to "crimes against the galaxy", but that won't happen until after ep 9.

i got enough on my sympathy plate with Kylo Ren. i can't start feeling sorry for Hux!

but i like the way you think.

while i want Snoke smoked, it would be unique and interesting to see the whole lot of them come to justice for their war crimes in a less "kill 'em all and be done with it" in a big explosion fashion.

 

I really don't want want to see them whack Luke in 8. I really don't. I mean, hell, we got through Empire without whacking anyone important..

Wait, I just thought of something. If we whack a main character in Episode VIII it would be unoriginal because we just did that in VII.. But if we don't whack a main character in Episode VIII then it will be unoriginal because we didn't whack one in V or even II for that matter(Well, Jango Fett but.. you know..)

 

As long as Luke and Leia don't bite the dust, I'll be happy but eventually they will have to die just like the stars that do die off. Possibly in comics or something but as long as we still can get more out of Mark and Carrie in the near future in more SW feature films, the better before things move forward where Daisy, Oscar and Finn carry on the torch without the old cast members.

And Chewie too, I almost forgot about him. Rey can't do without chewie as her co-pilot. lol

 

Then Disney would be symbolically, and in a not so subtle way, be playing an Imperial / First Order role there.

Not only that, but they would be demonstrating an incredibly woeful lack of imagination.

I expect better of them and their storytellers.

There are ways to generate dramatic tension and darkness without being so ostensibly histrionic or evil.

There are many ways to write, making space, finding places, and establishing key roles all major characters in The Force Awakens without resorting to gratuitous terminations.

The people who now have in their hands one of the greatest epics of all time would do well to pause, take a very deep breath, and think about what they're doing with these characters and to fans, what, as storytellers, they are trying to achieve, and how they will impact not only the story ahead of them but the past as well before ending another character.

This is not Game of Thrones. This is Star Wars.
