In the Star Wars trilogy there is always a central love story, in the OT Han and in the PT Anakin and Padme. Even though the latter was rather cheesy and over saturated, I think a central love story is something I think is unavoidable. Though I don't think a love story will be in TFA, I do think it will be highlighted in VIII since the other two love stories weren't hilighted until the second movie of the trilogy.

Now this is where speculation begins. Who will be the central love story? I have two scenarios involving characters we're already given.

    1) Finn and Rey. From what we know from the given rumored plot line, Rey helps Finn out of a tough spot on Jakku and he's instantly attached while Rey is very suspicious and maybe even resentful to him at first. If I was Finn I couldn't imagine him not being attracted to this mysterious beautiful woman who saved his life. Rey on the other hand seems to be a hardened independent female who is not easily charmed, similar to Leia. But maybe she will have change of heart by the end of TFA that we can see a budding relationship in VIII similar to Han and Leia.

    2) Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma I know this is probably a stretch but I couldn't think of a more unique way to display love ( or maybe just lust) in the Star Wars. What if it is revealed I'm TFA that they had a sexual relationship and both lust for power? Talk about a power couple.

Now I could say Poe and Rey but there's not much known on how much interaction the have if any in TFA.
Or a love story can bid from a new character in VIII. I know some people might roll their eyes at the thought of a love story in the ST but Love is strong theme that drives both the original and prequal trilogies.

I agree (and have said before) that there's almost certainly going to be a love story that's at least moderately significant in the grand scheme of things here.
I've thought as well about Rey and Finn being the most obvious choice at the moment, but I actually think that your idea about Phasma and Kylo is really interesting. It's not something that's really even crossed my mind before, and I'm not sure if I think now that it's incredibly likely, or incredibly unlikely. The one thing that I'd say is that I doubt that it'd be just a sex thing though. Star Wars is -- ultimately -- a family franchise, and I doubt they'd feel comfortable doing that, but an actual evil-y couple, that does sound interesting!

I'm not sure either about their being a love story in TFA. It would seem too rushed if that is the case. I heard one female role being cast for episode 8 and a key component was the chemistry between her and Finn.

Now chemistry doesn't always mean romantic chemistry but it could be a possibility.

I have always held the belief that even though Finn leaves the First Order he must have had some camaraderie with his fellow stormtroopers. We are to believe he has been in the Empire/First Order most if not all of his life so it is natural to assume then that he would have built friendships, even relationships with his comrades.
I also believe as Captain Phasma is a woman it is a strong possibilty that there will be female stormtroopers also.

I think one of the challenges Finn will face is to decide on which side his loyalties lie. This will come evident when he is expected to shoot and kill stormtroopers when on the side of the resistance. As the stormtroopers wear helmets for all he knows he might be shooting one of his friends.

So I thought what would prove even more interesting and challenging for Finn is that in Episode 8 he comes face to face with a stormtrooper who is an old flame. They are both still deeply in love but are on dangerously opposing sides. They also love each other but struggle to give up their ideals and principles. Now that ladies and gentlemen is a love story!
