Agree. Joe Cocker alien doesnt look cool. Sy Snootles is much better, creepy and darker.

A nitpicky suggestion, but Boba Fett needs to be digitally altered in A New Hope. No offence to the guy who portrayed him in that scene, but the three other actors who portray him throughout the original trilogy all possess a similar body shape and size. ANH Boba Fett's arms and legs are just too chubby, lol :D.

Fun fact: that guy's race was originally meant to be the two-metre tall cousins of the Ewoks on Endor. However, due to practical problems involving stilts and stuff, the concept was scrapped altogether.

There's no way Lucas intended the 1997 CGI to be permanent. I can't imagine him wanting a hyrbid of 1977-1983 and 1997 effects to be permanent state of things. Also, there's lightsabers, the dark lighting, the blue tinge, and the over-detailed skin.

Couldn't agree more, it's the worst change to the original trilogy by far. The Jedi Rocks music number I mean

Luckily, my parents bought me a limited edition DVD collection of the trilogy including the original theatrical cuts when I was younger and they're still my go to way to watch the movies today. I'm not sure that I've ever actually seen the 'enhanced' editions so I guess I can count myself lucky.

Please update the foreground Dewbacks in ANH. It takes me out every time. Ever since Spielberg released both versions of ET and Close Encounters of the Third kind, I was hoping Lucas would've followed suit. For years I had to hear people complain about my favorite movie(ANH), saying the special effects are dated which I ignored but now its sounding a bit true...

The Dewbacks don't really bother me, it's the Brontos. Especially since you see better-looking ones in TPM, which was released approximately two years later.

While I'm in with having some updates on the SE, I can't agree with those who say that all the new CGI effects should be removed because they have aged badly. Now it's not that I don't agree that some effects infact look real bad like the Jabba ones but let's face it, some effects still look awesome and way better than the original release apart from the fact that the non SE SW movies had tons of mistakes that looked really bad and the films themselves had aged really bad without the new upgrades. The Rancor was obvious that it wasn't even there and the Lightsabers from the Ben Kenobi vs Darth Vader scene from ANH looked terrible as you could sometimes see the little glow sticks. I remember the Tie Fighters that just disappeared before entering the Death Star, Palpatine's incredibly ugly holographic face in TESB and Han dangling from the skiff in a very anti-gravity way.

I would remove the whole Greedo shooting first thing and improve on the Jabba effects and the Wampa cave lightsaber effect as well. This one is just me dreaming big but I would love it if they took the new CGI Sy Snootles and made her look much like her original puppet form as I just loved her original look.

Most of the additions to Mos Eisley in the ANH special edition look pretty fake to me. The rontos look like crap, except from an extreme distance.
That dug they added to Jabba's palace in the ROTJ blu-ray looks real fake too. While they're at it, they may as well replace the entirety of Attack of the Clones cause most of it looks super fake.

I suspect that many do not want the CGI additions "fixed". They simply want them removed.

Well, that is true, a great many fans would like to see the original cuts again, but seeing as how that's unlikely, most would settle for less cringe worthy special effects.

I find that curious as well, then again, I've had people accidentally give me ratings and have accidentally done it myself on occasion when using a mobile device, so you never know.

    Dude? I'm not a man.

Well, you might consider them cringe worthy. I don't. The only change I didn't like was hearing Luke's scream during his fall through the shaft in "The Empire Strikes Back".

By the way, someone needs to add another selection for the poll - namely keep the SE as they are.

Empire Strikes Back doesn't need to be tweaked at all, unless it's to change the Emperor's look.
