I think she is her own person. She is force sensitive/force driven that they continue with the bloodlines of the SW saga. Like Anakin to Luke to Rey. they follow their own path. I like it, glad JJ put that out there for all of us to settle in and now figure out if she is someone or not. I think she is her own story. I think she doesnt follow a bloodline from past SW Jedi/Sith whatever. She is one that has midichlorians so strong that maybe Luke does play a part in her life. which explains her force visions. We do get a Skywalker in Kylo. fact. Am I the only one who thinks that maybe they switch places? that Kylo goes to the light and Rey falls to the darkside? that maybe Leia is the next one to go? Then Luke? maybe Luke makes someone into a jedi and they continue the story? Time will tell but im happy that my thoughts of Rey's story has been answered. JJ did a good job to start the ST in SW fashion. Cant wait til Ep. VIII

I never thought she was Luke's so I'm not surprised at all. The Force is for everybody it's not specific to some families.

Star Wars played up the whole father-son connection in Star Wars (1977). It was a story about a bloodline from the very beginning.

There are other jedis ... The story was over after the death of Anakin. Building another story about that wasn't that good in my opinion.

J.J could show up in person to certain people's houses to tell them Rey's not Luke's daughter and they'd still cling to the idea.

I don't think Rey is Luke's daughter, but nobody has said that and why should anyone immediately believe them on the topic of a certain parentage spoiler of all things anyway?

In Daisy's interview she stated that where Rey came from isn't relevant. It's the fact that she finds her place in the galaxy. When I first saw the movie I was convinced she was a Skywalker (the lightsaber in the snow). But now I appreciate the fact that she is her own character. I still want to think Luke has a family hidden somewhere, that would be a good twist.

Just because JJ said that stuff doesn't mean anything. I am not really a pro Skywalker Rey, but really now, just wait and see.

i'm sure it's relevant--just not in the way some people think.
and i think yes, it's going to be more important that Rey becomes Luke's pupil, is trained in the Jedi arts, and helps this mess of a family heal/become whole.

The sky walkers still Are RELEVANT through all of the main movies but the only story that's over is the one of "The Chosen One."

We already come through this. Kylo Ren is a Skywalker ...

I'm sure if in the movie, it is shown that Rey isn't Luke's daughter some people will wait for a reveal in ep XXXII.

I've always seen Rey as a child of the force created by Luke. Remember, the force is very very mysterious and powerfull. I think she is related to Luke "in a way." This article is misleading :p

I was talking about with the last name of "Skywalker" since Kylo is one in blood only.

I'm sorry but it is pointless. Do you think your cousins in your mother side are not in your family ?

    well that's silly.
and what if Luke was never married and Rey was born to a "Mara Jade" and Rey's last name is technically "Jade"?
sorry, she's not a Skywalker--in blood only so it doesn't count. hahaha

and if you want to get super nit-picky, we don't even know what Ben's last name really is.
what if he willy-nilly made it "Skywalker" to be like grandpa? would that fit the bill?

Tired of the "Skywalker" last name thing. Leia never had that as a last name and technically is one. I see it as descendants of Anakin and nothing else. Don't get hung up on the name. Ben doesn't even use his real name anyway. Who does in this movie? Very few people. Darth Vader changed it. Rey and Finn have both been taken in by this crazy family, related or not, they may adopt it. Who knows.
