    Disregard the poll as I think I was half asleep when I created this thread! :p

    I wanted to create this thread/poll so it was more of a generic thread, as I don't want to hear specific spoilers about their characters. Just a general question: Do you want more or less TFA screentime for the OT Big 3?

    When they first announced that Luke, Leia and Han were coming back for the ST, or atleast Episode 7, I wanted them in as much screetime as possible. But after seeing the first 2 teasers, I am actually starting to change and I think less is more. I think by having them less in TFA, you don't risk ruining their characters in a bad character development plot point. I also think if they appear in the movie sparingly, they will have more impact on screen and those scenes will actually carry more weight.

    I do sort of agree with @bigbayblue. the question is simple enough but we don't have a baseline established. they might be in every scene for all we know. (not likely) I think they should be in the movie only as long as they need to be in order to move the plot along. Im sorry if that doesn't answer your question.

    I think Han will have the most screen time because he dies.
    Luke and Leia will have the same screen time, but more in episode eight.
    As for Chewie same time as Han seeing they're always together.
    I think Rey will have the most screen time.

    My initial question was just more about do you want the OT Big 3 to play a bigger role or smaller role.

    If you want to scratch the poll and just leave it as a normal thread that's cool by me.. I wanted to start this thread because the Luke, Leia and Han threads were getting very spoiler heavy, as I wanted just a general thread about their screentime.

    I think it's a good poll. I will just drop the "less" word to avoid confusions. It's a simple but very good question. I personally would love to see more from them, but I don't want them to be action heroes doing fights and crazy stunts. They have to support the new cast and should definitely drop some "I am too old for this blast" lines from time to time. :)

    I'm not sure what I would like to see. I do think the movie will be more ABOUT rather than FEATURING the Big 3. Leia will be a back ground pulling strings type of character. Luke will be the goal of the movie. Han may be featured.

    I voted yes, because obviously I want to see Luke and Leia get the screen time everyone is hoping for after all these years. Everyone is saying that because we haven't seen Luke or Leia in the teasers, means they won't be in the film for very long. Well, I have to say I disagree. If Luke and Leia were only going to be in the film for a short scene or two, that would seriously upset a lot of fans. Teasers are called teasers for a reason, they are meant to tease us and leave us thirsty for more. And that's exactly what the two teasers we have gotten have done. I'll refrain from using spoilers, but everyone thinks they have everything figured out with TFA. They think that the entire ST is going to revolve around the rumors and teasers that have been circling around the Internet. And while some of it may be true, most of it couldn't be further from the truth. Some say that Luke and Leia may not have much screen time in TFA, but lots of screen time in episode VIII or IX, but I say that it could very well be the opposite. J.J has said himself that TFA is the bridge from the OT to the ST, and basically, they are passing the baton down to a new generation of heroes. To properly do this, you must have all the key roles from the OT in TFA. And of course Disney is not going to miss this tremendous opportunity to reunite the original cast on the big screen while they still can. With that being said, this isn't Luke, Leia, or even Han's story. Their stories have been told. This is the story of a new generation of Star Wars characters. So the screen time of the main OT cast won't amount to the screen time of the new cast, but that doesn't mean it will be short or even close to short. I think we will see a respectable amount of time for each of the original trio, and we most likely will see them all together again. Even if they aren't the same as we know them to be. But that's just my opinion.

    I just don't want a bloated overwrought story. If they can figure out a way to give good character arcs to 6+ main characters more power to them. Then bring on the OT cast. But it seems a simpler way to make a good SW film would e to limit the OT cast and streamline the story to concentrate on a few new main characters with the OT cast filling in as texture and side characters.

    I wouldn't mind if the OT cast gets some emphasis, but not at the expense of the quality of the movie. I'd much rather have a good film with no OT cast than something mediocre just so I can visit some old friends for a few hours. I'm ready to make some new friends.
