    Well i'm not too sure what a movie quality costume would cost or armor. I basically just went for fabric that felt authentic but still matched the feel of the original. Plus Joann's fabrics always has sales and big money saving coupons! ;)

    Yeah, the more you wear it the more you are going to want real leather. I'm not wearing my Rey costume as much, so the boots and waist bag are synthetic. Now I wish I'd taken the time to track down better boots so I could wear them at other times, but I was running out of time & they and the matching purse were sitting right there together at a Payless shoe store so I nabbed them.

    I can do some sewing myself but my sewing machine is like the Millennium Falcon, I have to talk to it and sometimes hit it just the right way to get it to work properly. No one else can use it, it's so temperamental.

    No I'm not paying for it really, I'm lucky to have a seamstress for a relative ;). I might buy a blizzard here and there for her lol!

When I get home i'll snap some pics and post them. Hope you all like! Also i'm not sure if i'll be posting pics from the theatre event here or starting a new post. Let me know what you think!

    So here it is folks!!! The finished costume! It'll be my last post until the movie event tomorrow night at my local theatre! I'll make sure to take pictures and post them of the night! Just make sure you all have fun and be safe out there! We gather to this forum to share our love for Star Wars and I hope you all enjoy the movie! We've been waiting for so long for this and it's finally gonna pay off. Stay positive and may the Force be with you all!

    WOW THANKS! There will be certain things i know i'll change after seeing the movie tonight. I did what i could with time and budget limits. I'm just so happy it turned out the way it did! Well i do have a knack for crafting and making stuff, so it would be an interesting idea to start making props, costumes and masks for people if they wanted. Maybe we could talk more in depth about that! Anyways i'm suiting up right now! I'll catch you all after the movie, hopefully with pics and a spoiler free review!

    Ok so here it is folks! Last night was an amazing time! The atmosphere was crazy! The movie was epic, awesome, funny, emotionally charged. It truly brought back star wars and captured all the feelings i've ever had for the movies! I LEFT THE THEATER BLOWN AWAY AND EXCITED FOR THE FUTURE! Those are my personal feeling on the Force Awakens. I've heard the negative talk from others and that's their view on it but i do believe most of that attitude is coming from people that can never be satisfied with anything!

    So more about the night, people loved my cosply and had people taking pictures left and right. IT FELT GREAT! I'll even have my picture posted on a local radio stations website!

    The next day at one of the schools i do tech work for invited me to take part in their "High Five Friday" event dressed in my cosplay. It was star wars themed because the whole school is nuts for it! I'll also post some pics from that.

    After seeing the movie I know i have some tweaks to make to the outfit for sure. I'll keep posting to this thread with updates that i'll make in anticipation for some local comic cons.

    All i know is that i'll be seeing the movie multiple times while it's still in the theaters! Absolute credit to JJ and all involved in making this film!

    Yeah lol. So i plan on taking my 2yr old daughter to see the movie. She watches them every day almost. Shes just as big of a fan as i am! So i'll dress up again and so will she (as Yoda) Which was what she was for Halloween. That or I might just tweak it and let her go a normal Jedi.
