I really think that one of the OT big three will make it through the whole ST. My credits are on Leia.

Luke position is secure unless Mark Hamill passes away before all three movies are completed I for one don't want that to happen.

I'm thinking 1) Han will die in a glorious fashion in episode IX 2) Luke will transcend into the Force like Yoda and 3) Leia will be the last one left alive of the Big Three.
The relationship between Leia and her daughter Rey could be greatly fleshed out in this way, as well as Leia's own Force potential.

    "There is...another...Skywalker..."

EDIT: I'm starting to think that Han will be killed off in TFA, possibly by Kylo Ren. I'm fine with that either way, as long as it's a meaningful death.

    I hope Han's end doesn't happen until episode 9.

Well he could give it to Poe Dameron. Remember, Lando had it in ROTJ, so it's not the first time someone else has piloted the Falcon.

Poe owning the millennium falcon Im not so sure, I was thinking about Lando taking ownership again but since he will not be in TFA that's why I didn't mention him in the previous post. He did feel at home flying her in TROTJ I know for sure.(falcon)

I can easily see Luke living until the end of the ST and hope he does. I think his demise in Episode IX could be a great impetus to set up the new trilogy (Episodes X-XII) which I wholeheartedly believe will happen.

For sure. He will pass the mantle onto Rey or Gleeson's character if he is a Skywalker heir most likely.

Yes, exactly! I think it's a good time (and bet) that they will break some of the rhyming with regards to the Jedi Masters dying. Both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan died in their initial movies. For Luke to die in 7 would seem cliche at this point.

Also, IF there is a search for Luke it would be pretty bad for him to be found at the end of the 3rd act only to die.

I say he lives on to continue to re-build the Jedi order.

Well I read on wookieepedia not that it is accurate, that he lived until 137aby & died peacefully so no demise in a duel for him, I hope they change that they change his fate in this trilogy provided off course he gets past TFA & doesn't die in real life.

The thought had never crossed my mind.......
@Slymaster that is a cool plotline. Having the rumored Aristocrat character in Episode 7 murder Leia perhaps to sway political power and control in is favor. That's a cool idea.

Sorry about the double post guys.

    I agree \m/

Which leads me to think that when Han dies, the Millennium Falcon and maybe even Chewy just might go with him in his "heroic blaze of glory".

Again I agree. Like GL said. "Each movie is like a line from a poem", some rhyme, some don't.

I know it is a eu moment but chewie did die when Anakin Solo left him behind as a moon crashed onto the planet they were escaping from, it caused friction between him & Han.

This thread represents the downside of bringing back the Big Three...a lot of people would rather it focus on them instead of new characters if the other option is death (and perhaps even if it isn't)

How so? Im glad they are back, they started this whole thing many years ago,I think the death option is about to easy to kill off character would need another to carry on the leadership.

Leia won't die in Episode 8. She will be tending to Rey's grevious injuries at the end of Episode 8. Rey will get chopped up by Kylo and receive cybernetics.
    --- Double Post Merged, Jun 5, 2015, Original Post Date: Jun 5, 2015 ---
Luke will warn Rey to not face Kylo Ren underprepared. Rey will try to rescue Finn and Poe from Kylo and lose her arm at the end of the duel.
