    I think they just want to leave that possibility for J. J. (like with many, many things), but I don't think it's a given. Anakin's being broken is more indicative of the fact that Rey will build a completely new one.

    I can totally see a traumatised car crash survivor not wanting to use a car ever again, as irrational as it is. ;) Yes, the lightsaber did not commit the action itself, but I think it can be seen as a symbol of it.
