Luke's screen time theory

I think the only reason you get mocked for it is you seem to jump on every opportunity to point out when someone else engages in your past... indiscretions. Methinks you are a bit too trigger happy about it now. Just some food for thought.

 

I dont mind how much luke is in it, but to wait 30 years plus to not have luke be a major force user is beyond ridiculous

 

We only see Luke in the Flshback scene and the last minute of the film. He isnt in any of those other scenes.

 

it is kinda sad after the ending of ROTJ that 30 years later nothing has gone right for any of the heroes, the empire is still going strong. han and leia may or may not be together, they might have kids; one is a psychopath and the other lives alone on a garbage planet, lando is not even around anymore and luke had all his students murdered and has completely disappeared.

 

Let's give a strong welcome to the world for Luke, Han, and Leia.

Yeah just like other people where so trigger happy to point out to me when I made a few threads of topics that already existed or made to many in a day or a week. SO give me a break!

 

I have noticed that many on here in the Cantina share this opinion and the following question is out of curiosity. If you are one of the group who feel this way, I would love to hear or answer.

Why you feel it necessary for Luke to demonstrate a great feat with the force or demonstrate great power with the force?

I only ask because precedent in the Star Wars movies typically shows Jedi in their later years (primarily Yoda and Obi Wan) as being safe and wise and not all powerful. Their presence tells you they are powerful but they are not performing great feats with the force.

Luke's age in this movie is going to be similar to Obi Wan and Yoda (being closer to the end of their years and not in their prime). If this movie was done 15-20 years earlier then I could see Luke demonstrating great power in the Force.

I am interested in seeing what people have to say on this topic. Thanks in advance.

 

Close this thread already. There is no proof that this is even true. It is a rumor started by a FANpage, NOTHING official at all.

 

I think at this point: 05/2015; Luke will appear briefly in a first act scene or major action battle(attack on his Jedi Academy) or at some point Maz Kantana will explain(like Ben or Yoda in the OT) to the young leads what happened to Luke Skywalker for 20-30 years. Then Kylo or Captain Phasma will attack her hangar-village-hideout & the leads with BB8 will flee, maybe in fixed up-repaired Falcon: .

In the end scenes, Rey may go to Yavin-4 then seek out Luke in the huge cave(located in Vietnam but replicated on a Pinewood soundstage). She'll give Luke the saber, they will talk, maybe hug then she'll leave.
Luke, alone in his huge cave-hiding spot will converse with force ghost Yoda, who will relay information that will fold into EP8. More than likely, who Anakin's real father was & what powers Plaguis really has(maybe).
"guide them you must" or "you can't ignore or conceal who you truly are any longer" may be what Yoda says.

Some people are so desperate for other people to read their post that they (without thought) post another thread without searching the forum first to see if a similar thread alreay exist. This has happend alot lately, and all it does is take up space on the forum for other threads people want to post in.

 

Ya seriously there's like five active threads about Luke's role in TFA on just the first page of this forum.

 

This is madness Luke only in one scene no way I can see his reaction if JJ told him that.

Exactly. JJ is much to wise as to only give Luke one scene for his Last hurrah.

He is not only in one scene. The reason why this rumor has lasted this long is because alot of users on this forum has blindly put all their fate in MSW's rumors without thinking

I was about to comment on this, that J.J. seems to hate the main characters, wishing them the worst hahahahaha just no one lived happily ever after, the end of Jedi looks now fake

 

I think Luke is going to be in 8 and 9.
