What ship would you like to see Luke pilot if given a space battle scene?

I know most of y'all are going to go with the classic X-Wing, but 'd personally like to see Luke in a Jedi Fighter duking it out with a bunch of tie fighters. That would be so cool to see after we've seen Anakin in one. That said, I wouldn't mind the other two options AT ALL! :)

I'll just say, give me anything as long as we finally get to see Luke Skywalker, son of the best Pilot in the Galaxy, in a good space battle!!!

Nice catch! I forgot about that scene in the Forceback. If some rumors are true, that very well could be Lukes ship.

Im sill going with Vaders ship though(tie)

My prequel knowledge is shaky at best, but was there a reason that the Jedi used that particular class of fighter (or "classes" as OB1's AOTC fighter differs from the ROTS one)? Presumably, Jedi could be as effective in any fighter, provided that the machine itself was up to the task.

That being said, while Luke in an X-Wing might be a cool way to go, I wouldn't mind seeing Luke in a new fighter for the Jedi. No reason to stick with the old design, especially since they were clearly a design that inspired the TIE fighters (along with V-Wings) anyway.

This image of a X-wing under water could be Luke's ship?

That probably how he got there but I doubt that ship is going anywhere it looks like it's been underwater for some time & I don't thank X-Wings are waterproof.

Possibly. If so, Luke may not have a ship at all and might just be catching a ride on the Falcon with Chewie?

That what Iam hoping for I want to see Luke in the MF gunners chair again maybe with Rey in the other which is why Chewie is in the pilot seat.

The internal logic of the PT films would be that the AOTC fighter wasn't as advanced because the Jedi were like FBI agents or Marshalls, it was designed like a cop car: Fast, nimble, sturdy, with some ability to fight.

The Jedi became more like Navy SEALS or Delta Force in ROTS: they needed something like an F-22 Raptor that was dominant and protected their pricelesss cargo. The clones needed something much cheaper to produce that didn't need all the protection of a Jedi fighter. So they are flying a-10 warthogs: effective for support but not as advanced.

The real answer is toys. They needed to create a new toy Jedi vehicle to sell you.

And I'm dying to see LFL do a movie based on that old SNES video game with V wings and T wings and such.

I appreciate they keep honoring the B wing design by making a few ships in the ST look similar, and seeing the A wings again warms my heart, but with TFA being largely rehash and a spray of cryptic setups, and with TLJ looking like it's already chosen to do homages like the skimmers it's nearly impossible to include new things like a separate kind of fighter Luke had into the narrative without it feeling forced.

We got very little dogfighting in ROTJ, and I hope they make an anthology movie from the ROTJ era like a Top Gun SW movie.

I'm no astrophysicist but wouldn't spaceproof be a higher level of proofing than waterproof?

It might be but you can't get rust in space & if it is his ship then it has been down there for some time.
However I will admit it would be a very cool scene to see Luke or Rey force lift the X-Wing out of the sea.

Last thing we saw Luke in on camera was a Lamda Class Imperial Shuttle.

Now that would be pretty cool if Luke and Rey infiltrate Snoke's SSD with that old shuttle. ;)

Hux: Do they have a code clearance?

Phasma: Its an old code, but it checks out...

Ok, I have been biting my lip for a few days now over this pic of Luke on the PB machine. Is it me or does he look like he is straining on a real hard poop?

When I saw the title of your post, I thought you were going to ask about the pinball machine image. If I might add another topic/question to the mix: what do y'all think they'll do with the underwater X-Wing? I'm hoping it's not going to be a re-do of the scene from TESB, in which Luke asks Rey to find a way to lift the ship from under the water. But in the BTS video, there was a shot of Rey diving into the water, no? This indicates that she will interact in some way with the X-Wing...

Yes, and I don't know about you, but him just controlling that ship so casually was really cool to me. I really want to see Luke in a space battle.. Sadly, I don't think they'll fit that in the sequels. They've already established Luke as a bit of Obi-Wan crazy, old wizard which is fine, but IMO it would be such a missed opportunity to not show Luke piloting the ish outta something in a space battle. :/

Don't frighten me with these terrible potential outcomes from the film. Oh man, I'm upset enough about the Starkiller base.
    --- Double Post Merged, Jul 20, 2017 ---
Please don't. I'm being redundant, but I'm still upset about Starkiller Base.

Fair enough I can see where that might be a little to close se to ESB (though I think given the location & how it connects to the two characters RJ could still pull such a scene off) thought with the underwater shots from m the BTS clip Iam going to guess that they will be using the X-Wing somehow .

I'm fine with some Jedi training. The film obviously has some, but I just don't want it to be an exact parody of ESB. That said, Luke's ship could very well be in the water since we didn't see it anywhere. Luke could have been stranded? hahaha that would be a bit comical.

There have been rumours of Rey fighting with some aquatic monster, so if anything, the underwater scenes will most piely tie into that.
Speaking of the X-wing from the pinball machine - I believe it was Luke's and he put it underwater because he didn't really plan to escape Ahch-To... and that's pretty much it. It's a cool image, but I don't think it holds any more importance.
