Luke's X-wing is hidden underwater, Rey will elevate upon the surface in Episode VIII, or Luke'll do it with Yoda style! haha

You mean as a parallel where Rey is trying to leave but can't lift Luke's x-wing and Luke just laughs and says he's been in her shoes and lifts it for her ?

Haha That's would be fun to watch. At least we might see Luke's smile which is unlikely. He is not the same farm boy on Tatotine. I miss watching him jumping around like in ROTJ, sadly he's too old to do that.

If Palps can jump around in III, I'm sure they can pull off some force-acrobatics with Luke.

Such a scene of Rey lifting Luke's ship out of the water, if there is indeed a ship there, could lend itself to some welcome humor and an amazing little scene serving as a nice variation on the Luke / Yoda / X-Wing sequence on Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back.

It could be a fun little jab at Luke for not being so natural in his belief of the Force as Rey seems to be.

If you have seen that scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron where people try to lift Thor's hammer, it was a humorous scene and then even funnier when a certain someone tried to lift it and it budged just a bit: the change in expression on Thor's face at that moment was priceless. And then he smiled again knowing it was not to be lifted by that person.

Now imagine Rey does find the ship (it's an ocean not a swamp) and then lifts it effortlessly and then, with it hovering in the air, she turns and calmly asks Luke where she should set it down.

A partly mystified yet proud and smiling Luke points to a place and says, "Uh, there. Yes, over there would be fine."

This could be a very welcome glimmer of lightness in a narrative reportedly to be decidedly darker than The Force Awakens.

I would actually love to see this played out on the screen. I do not know if the people who make this movie delve into these forums to gauge fan responses or to gain inspiration, but I would hope they would consider something like this given how effective this scene could be, especially as it could certify, in a fun way, Rey's readiness as a Jedi while paralleling her journey with Luke's.

Would Luke have gone with R2, but then R2 would have sent the X-Wing back with him?

I doubt there's enough time for them to read every possible corner of the web. But, general fan reaction to VII has to have influence (especially given the reports parts of VIII were written to add more Rey/Finn/Poe time). Something that has risen as a criticism of VII, but I just treat as unexplained, is how Rey is so comfortable with using the Force so quickly. I'd imagine the long arc of the trilogy knows how to explain this, and they will want to add ample moments to VIII and IX to remind the audience that Rey is practically the 2nd coming of the chosen one (or something to that effect).

Would love to see that played out in banter between Rey and Luke. They did a great job between her and Han, there's no reason not to continue that, but in character.

There is the theory that Rey was Force-trained at a young age at Luke's school. After the Jedi massacre, she was mind-wiped and hidden on Jakku, for her safety.

This would explain why she learns to use the Force so quickly; she is merely remembering. The Force has awakened within her after a long sleep.

Not really the design during the TFA timeline is the future unless someone crash lands on a planet like jakku & repair one.
