If so why didn't he tell her that during their unforgettable interrogation scene, that IMO would have broke her focus.

@Longstar , if Rogue One is really about stealing the original Death Star plans, then the movie must take place just before the events of ANH. it explains why the Empire and Vader are trying so hard to get the plans back; had it happened years before (say, when Luke was 14) they probably would have found the plans before the events of ANH. i could be wrong, but that makes the most sense to me.

as for Felicity being Rey's mom, i can maybe see that. she would have had to been knocked up post RotJ or else Rey would be like 40 something in TFA. the real reason i think she's not involved is because she's in an anthology movie, not a saga movie. i doubt they'll have such important plot points in a cross over form like that.

@Shara , as i just said, i'm thinking Rouge One will end where ANH begins, making Luke the same age in both films (unless he has a birthday somewhere in there lol).

It makes perfect sense to me that they'd establish links between the anthology and the saga films. This would keep people who like the saga films invested in watching the anthology films. Keeping all the franchise films linked somehow has worked incredibly well for the Marvel franchise, so they'd have a strong motivation to apply this model to Star Wars.

Well does he really know who she is? If Kylo Ren actually knows Rey then that would make sense.

Guys, I have a feeling that Felicity Jones' character in Rogue One isRey's mom.. I mean they're both british and both have a similar appearance. Same facial type with same skin. And they could've made anyone else the LEAD ROLE of Rogue One. But they chose Felicity who has a STRIKING resemblance with Daisy.. Thoughts anyone??

I believe this to be a strong possibility... though even if 'Rogue One' takes place just prior to ANH, that would make it approximately 15 or 16 years prior to Rey's birth.
I think it would be great if she were Lor San Tekka's daughter and be in her early twenties, 22 or 23, just 4 or 5 years older than Luke.

Well according to DR, Rey's parent(s) were in 7. So that means Luke or H&L. Kenobi is to old.

I believe Mrs. Tran plays her mom in flash back scenes with Luke. Pablo hinted that at least one of Rey's parent would be East Asian.

I do remember this red wig blurb, especially as I'm a Mara fan....took immediate note of it. I can't remember for the life of me if that story was either debunked or just faded away and was forgotten.

Now, I didn't read the novelization of TFA, maybe it states otherwise so please correct me if I'm wrong, but are we ABSOLUTELY certain that Luke is ALONE on Ahch-To?? Is there someone else there that we're just unaware of.....like....a female companion...with red hair?? :)

Rememder in EP 1 where Anakin's mother did not know who the father was? Rey could be same situation. "Chosen One" born to woman only.

I have been noodling around with this idea for a while. Let me know what you think

In the comics there is a character that was hired by Darth Vader. Doctor Aphra. I have have a theory that at some point after the fall of the empire Luke and Aphra become an item. In the Star Wars comics Aphra worked alongside the rebels. But she is technically a bad guy. She has been betrayed by Vader at this point. My thinking is that Aphra, much like how Kylo Ren is basically Jacen, is the new cannon version of Mara Jade. I think that Kylo Ren will have killed her at some point much like how Jacen killed Mara. I don't know exactaly how the whole thing would work with Rey being on Jakku if she is there daughter. I just think it would be a cool idea.

    What do you guys think?

I would be surprised of Luke brought up Mara Jade & I also hope Rey has a mother is someone we haven't seen before.

Easy explanation for everything mentioned above: Luke didn't know he had a daughter (the mother never told him she was pregnant)

I think that 99,99% of people have no clue who Dr Aphra is so it won't twist anyone especially when Daisy Ridley said it was already shown in TFA ( not her parents but her backstory ).

After reading "A Jedi's Weapon" which gives you a good glimpse in to how Luke thinks, I REALLY don't see Luke having romantic involvement at all. Where, in the prequel trilogy and in Clone Wars, we learn that the Jedi strive to be selfless and to resist the urge for attachment. IMO Luke is the embodiment of the Jedi code. He naturally is selfless, and not attached - not romantically anyway. I think a one night stand type situation is a remote possibility. The code forbids attachment, does it not allow "friends with benefits"? And I'm being serious and joking at the same time.

I thought the DS plans are stolen RIGHT before ANH...?
    --- Double Post Merged, Jul 20, 2017, Original Post Date: Jul 20, 2017 ---
    Here's the thing:

The true mystery in TFA is not WHO Rey's parents are/parent is, but HOW did it all work?

I see strong evidence for ReySky. I see NO evidence explaining how Luke had and lost a kid, or Han and Leia lost a kid. But at this point that does NOT tend to disprove Skywalker/Solo because they're withholding SO MUCH important backstory. If Rey's parents are nobodies who don't matter than those logistics don't matter, but PH and KK have already said that Rey's parentage/lineage is important, so "parents dont matter" theory = debunked.

As of now, we have too little info re Rey's background to do more than wildly speculate. Unlike what Rey's parentage is, which is a closed-circle mystery, no matter what your theory.
