    I agree with you there. Bringing back Maul was one of the many things that TCW did which was silly.

    The lighting and the near-death trauma caused a permanent case of amnesia. He rebuilt a new identity, either as a private investigator named Shaft, or a contract killer named Jules...

    If I remember correctly, with Lucas, he didn't discount that Windu had actually survived as he could have lathed onto a speeder or something like that with his talent in The a force and all.

    The last time I saw Mace Windu he was taking a deep fried lightning trip down to the Coruscant underworld. SLJ is great but 10 years later we don't need mistrust in the darkside being sent Finn or Rey's way.

    I really can't see TFA bringing back any PT characters (unless they were also characters in the OT - Luke and Leia obviously, possibly Yoda). If they solely existed in the PT and were not seen/mentioned in the OT, I am highly skeptical they will feature in TFA. For Windu to have survived would raise so many eyebrows that a lot of credibility of the new movie would disappear.

    Mace Windu played by Sam Jackson as a Jedi Knight living in celibacy? Sorry, I'm not buying into that.

    I don't think he survived, but the prospect Finn might be his offspring doesn't sound too farfetched, IMHO.

    Maybe that's what Kylo intends to finish and what Vader started: To erase the Windu family line. The way he moves towards Finn in the trailer is rather "vicious".
