Meh, doing adds and commercials are an easy way to get a little money on the side. It can be done in as little a day and helps keep their face out there. Most of the commercials/ads I've seen popular actors do are for luxury goods or maybe cars. It won't be anything ....'popular'.

Looks like I haven’t said this in this thread yet, this isn’t an unpopular opinion but it’s true. Adam Driver carried this trilogy. Like he was just so good as Ben Solo and Kylo

He did. The rest of the cast were good but Driver was exceptional. His performance in TLJ particularly was better than some Oscar winners, and I know as I've seen them.
As a long time Han Solo fan I expected to hate his character, so it came as a real surprise that I ended up not only sympathising with him (but not agreeing with his decisions) but he became my all time favourite SW character.
I don't think I'll ever get over my crushing disappointment at what DLF eventually did with his character.

    As a Rey fanDem's fightin' words! :)!

I can see why people like him. But to me he's just your standard Byronesque hero (ie. Mr. Darcy, Rochester, Heathcliff) that have been in cinema and tv for decades, I saw nothing new. Not to say that Adam didn't do a wonderful job. But I had a very, very hard time sympathizing with the character. It wasn't until I started to watch some YT vlogs (by male fans) and read some of the better fan fictions that I began to understand him a bit more.

It was also doing a few re-watches of TLJ --specifically the FB scenes with Rey, the way he spoke to her. Firm but polite and gently trying to push her to grow that made me think that there was much more going on there.

Also I just see too many people liking him because he has loud faults and is hot mess. His childishness and inability to control himself make him relatable to many (especially here in North America) . But the fact is he explodes and she implodes.

Rey is far from perfect. But it's because most of the harm she does affects herself. People can't see or don't see anything wrong with allowing your insecurities to rule you, to the point of stagnation. Where you die.

So in effect I can see why people think or have the opinion that Ren (and Adam) carried the films.

Interesting analysis... we are here to discuss the films, not the people that watch them.

Very nice Ren/Ben tribute video. That covers his character arc as well as his psychology.

He's pretty popular with the GA, but not so much with certain SW fans....I've crossed verbal swords with quite a few who loathe him.
