Main Rey/Daisy Ridley Episode IX thread

Here we go.......

 

Im not expecting a busy thread this time around. There's literally nothing to get excited for so I am bitterly disappointed.





This was taken today in Hyde Park London there doesn't seem to be anything spoilerish with her hair going on. Little bit worried about that white tag on her arm. I hope that is not a hospital tag I hope she's well and not been poorly again.

Hopefully we will gets some decent news in the next few weeks. - Fingers crossed

It feels like forever am praying your right. It's been so boring these past seven months.

 

Her birthday is April 10. Does that seem like a trivial thing for me to say? Yeah. I guess it is.

 

If JJ can somehow craft a big picture story that ties Rey and Kylo Ren together through the Force to 'end this destructive conflict,' then it could cap the Saga for many fans. Now I don't mean Rey-Lo as that is the last thing I want to see, but more in the narrative about somehow Rey and Kylo Ren were essentially created to end the Force as THEY are the true balance. Somewhat like a Matrix Revolutions storyline. Now I don't know how JJ can do that but that is why he is getting paid to write the movie and I'm sitting here posting my thoughts on an internet board.

 

It's early and we don't even have a title yet. Give it time, and I'm sure these character threads will blow up like they always do

 

To be honest that doesn't really raise expectation. Am female the whole destiny calls you - To a man, its hardly compelling.

I'm like you though. I hope JJ can pull something remarkable too.


But that's just me, I mean, I don't want to denigrate the thread on its first page. It's a personal opinion. it just doesn't sound compelling at all to me

I hope so. I hope it stays newsworthy and on topic and not divert into a she's such an over powered, I hate this boring character thread. Or the Kylo thread X2, which it seems to contort too in other places around the internet

I mean by all means moan. I know I do as long as it's relevant.

Oh god do forgive me if I sound like a mini mod. It's just me venting my frustration...

 

Don't really like posting pap photos so I will only post this one. Not sure how long the hair is now. Doesn't seem much different but perhaps a tad shorter. But nice to see her pop up out of the woodwork.

A little update on Daisy's tv production. Not Star Wars but thought it interesting.



Not much news on IX its so dry at the moment I wish we could get some spy photos or a new interview, just something.

 

The thing is, Rey’s destiny is not calling her to a man. Kylo and her had a connection through the Force that was manipulated by Snoke. At the end of TLJ they have another Force “moment” and Rey literally and metaphorically shut the door on Kylo when she closed the door on the Falcon. Her destiny is to be a Jedi and help restore peace to the galaxy. Luke tells Kylo “I will not be the last Jedi”- cut to Rey lifting the rocks. At the end of the movie when Rey is holding the broken saber and doubting what they will do next Leia in a comforting manner says they have all that they need right here. This is to a point implying that Rey herself will help the Resistance move on.

I know a lot of people, even many here in the cantina like to bash on Rey. They say she is boring, too powerful, a Mary Sue (none of which I personally agree with). However, Rey has done exactly what Lucasfilm has wanted her to do. She has helped grow the fandom. While here at Disney World, I have seen more little girls wearing Star Wars T-shirts, rushing to watch SW themed performances. Rey is a big part of this. Girls dressed like Rey. Girls buying Rey’s staff and Rey’s lightsaber (it is now marketed and sold as Rey’s lightsaber). It is a great site to see.

 

Looking forward to reading this book, it's so cute. Nice to see some love for Rey for a change.

I knew I'd regret looking in this thread. The photo of Ridley with the camels is a spoiler and a disappointing one at that.

Does JJ Abrams not know the GFFA has cities and such. I mean they build spaceships so not all the planets need to be deserts and on the fringe.

This is the most negative I've ever been about Star Wars.

What I came here to say originally is I hope there is no "romance" for Rey.

She has more important stuff to do and it would be nice to see a movie were the female hero doesn't need a boyfriend/girlfriend.

 

You called it back in July.

They were called 'knobs' before, now they are known as 'balls' (comment) in a new hairstyle. If you look closer, it appears Ridley is holding Rey's staff in her left hand.

Rey's outfit, matching the recent leaked reference photo collage that has more detail, is white.

These are past SW characters that have worn nearly all white ensembles.

They use white for Leia and Padme's and Luke's depiction on expanded media a lot.

 

Her costume seems to be a tad darker here but she's not wearing the drapes.



As for the thread being dead , I actually could have post a few extra bits but I just felt daft been the only person posting. I saw quite a few images of Daisy over Christmas but there private images and am not talking about the Taylor Swift images which am 100% sure wasn't her anyway lol. But yeah the place is dead.

 

Most of the Episode IX character threads are dead because there has not been a lot of info out there on IX that would spark speculation on the characters
