    Belonging, everyone feels out of place and it's trying to fitting a place or belonging to something, every single character, Finn doesn't feel he belongs in The First Order, Kylo Ren have problems with the light side and the dark, even Han Solo says he is back to what he was better at but you can feel he misses belonging to something bigger.

    And the bigger need of belonging goes to the biggest character of the movie Rey, she is desperate to belonging to anything but she refuses to accept her destiny, the conflict between these two ideas will be the hurdle she need to jump in the trilogy.

    Wise. And I would say that the theme of 'belonging' always works in tandem with the theme of 'displacement'. Abrams mentioned that even Hux was meant to be 'out of place'. He seems to young to be a general, out of place, yet that also gives him character and explains his behaviour, especially his attitude to Snoke and Kylo Ren. I think Rey's 'posh' accent is also meant to show that she appears to be too sophisticated for the place (Jakku) where we find her in the first act. She literally feels displaced and marooned. There is also a displacement/belonging thematic under current to Leia (as naturally belonging to Han). And also quite another one to Kylo Ren's relation with his parents. Leia commands Han to bring "our son home". Kylo Ren is even 'displaced' and 'removed' from the close guidance of Snoke.
