I personally don't see her being a Kenobi offspring but who know? Heard something awhile back about her being an Aid to Leia. May be a student of hers?

 

I have really been hoping she is a Kenobi. I really do not know why but it sounds pretty awesome to me. To see a Skywalker train a Kenobi on screen would get my emotions all worked up.

If she is then so be it. I would certainly be open to the idea. You 're right about it being cool a Skywalker training a Kenobi. The circle being complete and all that.

 

I just think this is her reading the script and that leads me to believe she has a bigger role. They are trying to keep her a secret it seems for some reason.

 

Seems like the overwhelming majority is against this idea. While I agree with the sentiment that this would make our galaxy far, far away a little bit smaller I don't really mind it at all. The Star Wars universe has always been jam-packed with central characters related to one another, or playing roles in multiple story lines.

Though I don't watch the show, I have read that Yoda is to be shown in Rebels. This is a perfect example of a character being thrown into every possible corner of the galaxy. I actually find this more annoying than having an "unknown" offspring of Kenobi brought into TFA. Yoda was supposed to have been in hiding from the end of the Clone Wars until Luke came to him in Empire. I understand the importance of the character, but constantly bringing him into the adventures of every major character in the universe for a 50 year period is a bit much.

Off-topic Yoda rant aside, I had never thought about something you mentioned in your post: a Skywalker training a Kenobi would bring the saga full-circle. Obi-Wan trained Anakin and then Luke. Seeing Luke pass on what he had learned to a Kenobi would be a particularly emotional moment.

 

Until the official trailer, or cast order is released, we just won't know...

 

Frickin' finally. Wonder why there's been no confirmation until now? I mean, she's been rumored for a long time and all.

 

This whole movie is just a box full of mystery.

 

Hoping she is one of the rumored "few" Jedi that Luke has trained since ROTJ. Watching the first half of the movie and wondering to myself "where are Gleeson, Maisie, Pip, and Crystal?" and then having some surprise plan of Luke's kick in right when the heroes need it most and seeing all of them leap out, lightsabers ablaze, would be amazing.

I am hoping for just a couple of lightsabers in this trilogy. The actors and actress I want to be Jedi are Ridley, Sellers and Hamill. You can sub Boyega out for either one of the first two and that would be chill I guess.

 

Once the production wrapped, a lot of people that were previously not talking about being a part of the production or were talking around it started to.

It's comes across like some gag clause in their NDAs expired when it wrapped.

 

I understand they were vastly overused in the PT, so limiting Jedi/Lightsabers just makes sense. At some point, though, they're going to have to start training more Jedi - particularly if "The Force Awakens" is a reference to a mass awakening of force potentials in the galaxy, as it seems that it will be.

I'm really liking what I'm hearing about these actors and actresses wanting to create the best movie possible for us fans. It's really encouraging how they feel about this franchise and how they're treating it not like just another job. And the plus is is what Mark said about Ford being really eager to come back. I can't help but to think that this is gonna work out.

 

I have had blind and naïve faith every since this whole thing got announced that everything is gonna work out. You are so right though that the confidence and love that each person involved is showing is beyond encouraging.
