    Here we go...

Snoke hesitated before he completed the ritual. He only had one chance to get this right, and even he, master of the illusory, was uncertain if he could pull this off. And then he spoke the word, and, in a flash of light, it was done.

Back at the base, Leia looked away from the mirror, then back into it. Her heart beat rapidly, fearfully. She could not see herself, only the demon who turned her son to the Dark Side. She convinced herself this had to be another one of Snoke's deceptions.

Such confusion. She struggled to remember. And then she did -- that distant day when Luke once tried to teach her the ways of the Force -- his warning about the dangers of fear: "once you give into it, it taints everything, until you doubt even yourself, all you've done, and all you are." Was that it?

Snoke glanced at the indicators on the transparent navigation panel as a Resistance officer updated him on the fleet. Snoke thanked him, his voice now that of Leia's, and the Resistance officer went away.

Snoke rubbed his hand together, looking down at them: ten fingers now. Such soft skin. Yet he recognized who he really was. He alone knew. The ancient ritual had succeeded. He glanced around the room, unable to suppress a grin.

C-3PO passed by. "So very good to see you smiling, General Leia. Such a welcome sight, after all the bad news these days."

    Snoke nodded in agreement.

Leia shook her head in disbelief.

Excellent. Great imagination. I'm gonna say JMR nailed this one about the best it could be nailed. Definitely plausible. Good job man.

Do we really want to do this one? I have a gay cousin and he is a great guy. I have gay friends. I'm not racist in one bit. But come on... I'm not wasting 4 hours of my life to make this plausible. Someone else can take this one. I may do it if I get bored though.

I got one. R2 has been a double agent this entire time. That little trash can.

    Here we go:

The disturbance in the Force was unmistakable this time.

Luke closed his eyes and reached out with his mind across the room, beyond the walls. It was close by, whatever it was. Too close.

But the only one near him was Mara Jade. Even she felt cold, he noticed.

The sensation spread across his body like ice. Before it reached his heart, he called to his lightsaber. It flew to him, igniting in his hand as he turned to block the energy about to strike him down.

Mara Jade released lightning from her fingertips. He had seen this before. He knew what it was like to be electrified at the hands of Emperor Palpatine.

He never expected to see his girlfriend wielding such Dark powers. Unless -- "of course," he said to himself.

"It isn't you, is it? Where is she?" Luke demanded to know as he deflected the bolts back at the figure no longer resembling what he once considered was his soulmate.

"Somewhere you can never go!" defiantly replied the figure, which grew more grotesque by the moment.

"Tell me!" Luke commanded the emaciated alien he now recognized as Snoke.

Snoke yelled, "Never!" and released a flurry of fiery bolts before he narrowly evaded Luke's lightsaber and escaped out the door.

Luke found himself suddenly gripped by doubt: was she always him?

    Here we go:

C-3PO commanded his lifelong companion to open the doors as he did a thousand times before.

    R2-D2 did not budge.

"Will you hurry up, you nearsighted scrap pile?" C-3PO nervously chirped.

R2-D2 rolled away unexpectedly from the access panel.

"What do you mean, 'There's been a change of plans?'" C-3PO asked nervously.

Stormtroopers appeared at the end of the corridor.

R2-D2 sped away from his former companion and beeped enthusiastically to the approaching Imperial Officer.

"Thank you. We'll take it from here," he said to the retreating droid.

C-3PO called out one last time: "R2-D2, you're going to regret this! Just you wait until Master Luke finds out!"

    Stormtroopers surrounded C-3PO.

"I surrender," C-3PO declared, as the Stormtroopers lead him toward the interrogation room.

The Imperial Officer spoke into his comlink: "We have the droid."

C-3PO glanced around, confused: "He tricked me. Again. But he'll do no better, that malfunctioning little twerp. "

The hypothetical ritual Snoke conducted was a mind/body swap: his mind in her body, her mind in his.

So, as it goes in this hypothetical tale: while Leia was confused and thought it was simply another one of Snoke's tricks preventing her from seeing herself (when in fact she had been trapped in Snoke's ancient body), Snoke took advantage of his new host and would almost certainly begin to make some otherwise compromising decisions for the Resistance, perhaps placing it precariously in a place he knew the First Order would find.

It was an interesting thought experiment. Thanks for the challenge :)

While I was thinking of the mind/body swap along the lines of Snoke conducting some esoteric Sith demonic possession rite, your comparison is quite clever!

    Here we go:

C-3PO watched as R2-D2 was lowered into his master's X-Wing.

From the cockpit, Luke gestured to C-3PO. C-3PO waved back.

The X-Wing soared away. C-3PO was alone -- again. R2-D2 always got to be with Luke.

"Well, that is his lot in life, I suppose," C-3PO noted.

He paced back to the room, thinking as he walked. Something was missing.

Fluent in over six million forms of communication, but, at the moment, he found himself rather speechless.

"Captain Solo's on his way back," he overheard the Deck Officer report to the crew.

"Wait just a minute," C-3PO said to himself. "That's it! Why, sometimes I do surprise myself!"

The Deck Officer turned to the droid. "What's your designation?"

    "C-3PO," C-3PO said. "I mean, C-3PO Skywalker. Yes, C-3PO Skywalker it is."

The Deck Officer smiled. "He named you after himself?"

"No!" C-3PO declared automatically, but then he quickly corrected himself: "I mean, yes! I suppose it makes him feel closer to me. Humans."

The Deck Officer moved on. C-3PO felt a new sensation: pride.

"C-3PO Skywalker. Yes, I do like the sound of that!"

    (c-3po)

    Here we go:

Yoda watched as Luke entered the Cave.

    He wanted to tell him.

"Believe it, he would not. No. Nothing will I say," Yoda muttered to himself.

Obi-Wan's ghost appeared from behind a tree.

    "Tell him what, Master Yoda?"

    "That a Skywalker I am."

"And risk the mission? We're already taking a chance hiding the fact his father is --"

"Enough, Obi-Wan! Hear you he might. Learn that on his own he must."

Obi-Wan looked confused. "You never told me how that was so. Your relation to him."

"A long story it is. A dark tale. Heard of Darth Plagueis have you?"

"Why, yes, of course. The legendary Sith who sought the secrets of life."

"And found them! Helped him, did I, one time. Taught him I did of life and the Force. Used such knowledge for evil he did."

    "Anakin."

    Yoda nodded regrettably.

"Had a hand in it did I. Forever part of this am I. A Skywalker I am, and secretly so."

Obi-Wan peered into the Cave. "It's really happening, isn't it?"

"Have faith we must in the Force. Be patient we must. And silent for now."

Great one! :) You know to be perfectly honest. Doing things like this can create really good ideas. Even if they are bizarre you might stumble onto something. I used to do a course where you couldn't stop writing. You had to write and never for one second stop. I would reread it and some of it would say, for example, "ok I have ran out of ideas but I have to keep writing so I'll just keep writing not to break the rules because I can't break the rules and stop writing. I hated rules as a child. My hand is getting tired and I can't think of anything besides rules now." And then bam I would rattle off some story about rules. Some of it was really interesting. I would reread it and say wow, there might be a story in there. How the hell did I think of that?

Well I'm glad you are having fun with this thread. You are a great writer and I enjoy reading your stuff in this silly thread and others.

Thank you so very much for the kind words, the great ideas, and the encouragement!

You have inspired me to think up these last couple of stories on the fly, and I am grateful to exercise that part of my brain :)

Thanks for all the positiveness and the fun!

I love writing without preparation and just seeing where things go. Sometimes it can be very surprising and productive!

I'm hoping you and others get to participate and try their hand at one of these fun challenges.

    Thanks again, El' Socko!

Have you ever seen one of those movies where a guy did something that he regrets? He then spends the rest of the movie trying to convince his girlfriend he has changed. Throughout the movie she isn't buying it or even wanting to here it. We as viewers see the change but the girl does not and we are like, "JUST FORGIVE HIM ALREADY."

The movies always end good. She eventually forgives him after witnessing the change and everyone is happy. BUT if he gave up like she wanted him to do the happy ending would never have came. Do you get what I am saying? I belong here. And I am so sorry to everyone here that I abused this forum with drunken rants in the past.

I can't give up. If I give up I lose friends I have made here. I can't do it. I have to convince the imperials/mods that I am truly sorry and I HAVE changed. If I go away that can not be achieved. So I will do what I must.

I know nothing about your past, El' Socko, as I'm relatively new to these forums myself...

but I believe in second chances. And I believe in forgiveness.

I believe in the goodness ever-present in every single individual.

    And I believe in you.

Your expression of sorrow and acknowledgement of past wrongs have already placed you on a path toward peace and wellness, and you are well on your way to better days. I know it.

So, be well, be happy, and believe in yourself just as others can and do.

All will be well, and you will be stronger, hour by hour, day by day.

You can do it, you are doing it, and you will do it.
