I am not convinced. Mandalorian is by culture not by blood. This is why they wear those masks, with the masks they are all the same as culture unites them not race. How can you leave your culture behind and go hiding on a forest backwater world? Also, there is no need to be mandalorian to be good warrior, star wars is full of good warriors from different races/cultures fighting on both sides.

Love the drawings, Krali Marko Vizla . Mando needs to keep all foods exotic, different and nothing earth like. Not that Baby will eat it. We already know frogs are yummy, but The Kid was quick, he let the frog slide back out of his mouth when the children showed disgust.

Kato Sai, Cara and Mando I think are pretty evenly matched. They were wrestling and we've not seen Mando do any wrestling.. He's very quick on the draw and using his built in armor tools. Mando was dragged in and looks pretty ragged being flipped over and over on the floor. Definately not his forte. Training in the future?

She would be a Mando in hiding, perhaps to survive like the Jedi (Cal Kestis) during Order 66, she had to hide her Mando identity. If the Empire is purging you, you might refrain from helmets that identify you as a Mandalorian.

I think part of the problem was that the fight seemed unnecessary. If the fight wasn’t necessary, what was the point? I can understand why people think the only point was to show that the female character could take down the male lead.

Now was that put in the episode to make some sort of “woke” statement or because a large part of the audience would never just assume a female warrior was the equal to the male lead so she had to prove it?

I don’t know which it was. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was both.

I was fine with Cara and Mando ending their rough rumble in a draw; it was that Mando seemed so uncharacteristically weak and stupid. He saw with his infared tracker that footsteps stopped and the only logical explanation is above you, but he acts disoriented. Then in the fight he uses his falmethrower (which is getting overused in the show, we get it, he has a flamethrower already).

My issue is not with Cara in the tumble, but that Mando after all surviving, suspecting, and taking down Trandoshians:

Then auddenly is indept at realizing someone is gonna drop on him? Poor writing.

Maybe he was underestimating her abilities? Seems like that sort of thing happens all the time...

This fight be gettin all kinds of undies in a twist. Well. Not all kinds.

Come on guys, lighten up a bit.

    Cara's perspective:
She had been hiding out on the planet for maybe a couple weeks or so (the bartender said she had seen her there for the past week) so she is still feeling things out. Then a Mando walks in. Known for bounty hunting, and she thinks she is his target. Hell, he was so brazen as to ask the waitress about her while she was watching them both. What would you do if you were her? GTFO, then fight if it came to it.

    Mando's perspective:
He's looking to hide out somewhere but walks into a tavern with at least one credible threat to his hideout, one that he knows recognizes his profession and abilities. He's toting his biggest asset at his side, El Babyoda, and he wants to make sure that Cara isn't there for either of them. (They both have the same mindset here.) Next thing he knows, she flees and he gets a bad feeling, and goes after her. She attacks him. What do you want him to do, lay down and give up?

And no, I don't blame him for Cara getting the jump on him. She did well. Most of his targets probably run; few probably run, hide, then subsequently fight back to this degree. And once he realized the trail went cold, after looking to his left and right he looked up. Cara saw the hesitation and attacked. They both played this as best and smartly as they could but neither was going to make it unnecessarily lethal. Also -- you have a flamethrower on your wrist and you aren't going to use it in a fight? C'mon man. I'm lightin that thing up first chance I get. Seems like something that would be bitched about just as quickly if he hadn't used it.

Finally, I think it's disingenuous and (at least) borderline sexist to bring any other perceived agenda into this fight. So let's leave that out of the argument going forward. Please and thank you.

Not sure why I got a clouded... I was just pondering both sides of the issue. I guess this day and age if you try to see both sides and don’t assume the other side is either an out of date Neanderthal or a tree hugging hippie you’re bound to piss someone off.

We all have our “certain points of view.” As I have said, Cara Dune’s part of the fight I find issue with, just Mando’s lack of vigilance when he had Trandoshians attack in Ep2 and fought strong:

    04E17555-1D89-43AD-A37C-DC1DDED367E3.jpeg

As for sexism, I have been labeled a liar in this thread and now sexist? In my family I am surrounded by working strong women. I have no issue with women being powerful, I am a big Rey fan, and Mara Jade Skywalker is one of my all time favs characters: and I love Padme, and Rose Tico. All strong female characters. My issue is Mando, not Cara Dune, I am disappointed with his prowess.

    I’m done..

DONe with Star Wars, done with this forum.

    Givin my tickets away.

Its obvious the dark side of labels, predjudiced, and rash judgements win. Goodbye everyone.

That was from me, with my explanation above.
For the record I'm not pissed off and I wouldn't clasify myself as neither a Neanderthal nor a hippie, but rather somewhere squarely in the middle.

Yeah, two different fights; one with multiple assailants and melee / projectile weapons, and one close range hand-to-hand against a single opponent.

Sorry you feel that way. I didn't specifically call you a sexist, but I was tired of the argument trending that way. There is plenty of discussion to be had of any topic without having to bring gender or other physically-defining traits into it.

Those Jawas totally stripped his ride. Good thing he found out their soo-ga weakness, but only thanks to Kuiil. Of course baby Yoda had to save him from the mudhorn when he went to get the soo-ga. Then he fought a bunch of other bounty hunters and had to get saved by the other Mandalorians at the expense of exposing themselves and forcing them to then relocate. I’d say fighting to a draw with a former Shock Trooper (elite combat stormtrooper) is not a bad showing, all things considered.

I still think he’s a great character. I enjoy seeing him in his element, going into dangerous places without fear and being able to take down multiple opponents. But he’s not perfect and makes mistakes, especially when out of his comfort zone, like taking on an armored mobile fortress, fighting a giant mindless beast, or going toe to toe with an elite combat veteran.

My aunt walked out to her driveway one morning to find her car sitting on blocks, wheels gone. If only she would have had the wherewithal to deliver a giant egg to the local hooligans....
