in the year 9ABY crack bounty hunter and tiny child was sent to prison by a Military court for a crime they didn't commit these men prominently escaped a maximum security stockade to the Tatooine underground. Today still wanted by the Empire they survive as soldiers of fortune, if you have a problem, if no one else can help and if you can find them maybe you can hire the Mandalorian.

    what a great episode though!

Ok we don't find out who the mystery person is yet, but who cares, we will, all in good time

I like this no rush approach and chapters are partly contained stories very similar to how rebels was.

it's still building Mando's character and now a bit of history thrown in.

also adding to that ever increasing least of people who hate Mando and will have a score to settle.

The layout and design of the republic prison ship was awesome, visually incredible.

I liked the 'crew' he was hired to work with, kind of got a guardians of the galaxy vibe from them slightly, and I loved the way they were just taking the piss out of Mando, until that is they saw his handy work.. she knew.

The best hallway scene in Star Wars is still Vader in Rogue One, but Mando coming up behind Mayfeld with a strobe light blinking is right up there.

The cinematography of this episode is gorgeous and the soundtrack just keeps opening up new layers.

Bill Burr made a Gungan joke. Mind blown.

    Everyone recognize those X-wing pilots?

I'm a huge fan of Rogue One, because it matches the tone of the stories in my head from when I was a kid playing with Star Wars toys. The Mandalorian is the same. It has such a great atmosphere and mood. It's clearly in the Star Wars universe but definitely its own unique thing. I love everything about it. Star Wars is in great hands!

Honestly, half the time I don't know what the heck I'm watching with this show, but it doesn't stop me from loving it.

What I really appreciated about this episode was that I was really tense the whole time. I knew perfectly well that nothing bad was ultimately going to happen to the Mando or Babyoda (except getting dropped on the floor, it's okay, breathe, my baby boy was fine but really I thought Mayfeld should have died for that act alone but it's okay I'm fine I'm okay), but I was still really feeling the suspense. I loved the little scene where the red light is strobing and you can see Mando stalking Mayfeld!

The crew was interesting--the Twi'lek woman was giving me Harley Quinn vibes for sure. I liked the little musical cue with the unhinged violins for her.

The ending cameos were downright cheesy but I happen to be a Star Wars cheese connoisseur. And yet, while some parts of the show seemed very much like the Clone Wars episodes in which the characters run down endless halls of Separatist ships, it didn't feel all that Star Warsy. That's not really a complaint, I don't think...just an observation.

I can't believe in the New Republic they are still making their officers wear those egg helmets. You wouldn't catch Cara Dune wearing a thing like that. smh

This show has a thing about trackers. So this particular tracker just signals some NR folks in X-wings to...blow up whatever they see?

I thought one intriguing thing this show did was with the threat of taking Mando's helmet off against his will. It's almost as if it's a threat more fear-inducing than the threat of death. An interesting twist on the threat of violation you don't often get with a male protagonist.

Not enough Babyoda in this one, gotta say. The mirroring of him evading the droid while Mando evades his hunters was a nice touch though.

This show is like unrealistic Secret Santa: you never know what you are going to get, but you know it's going to be cool. :D

O.K. This was, for me, improvement compared to the last week. While the plot hasn't moved, we learned all kinds of stuff about Mandalorian. When he was younger, he was a killer, hanging with the rough crowd. Compared to how he dealt with the crew (which surprised me at the end) in the present, his action now show significant growth (and influence of baby Yoda). I too got the Clone Wars vibe from the episode, which for me was a plus. I liked the team a lot, I liked all the Easter eggs. How much will 'I hate TLJ' crowd be pissed by the mention of Canto Bight? I like that the person mocking Gunguns is actually an a$$hole.

Mando fighting/hunting the crew one by one was great too and I liked how the episode was resolved. I am expecting the last two episodes to explode and be a bit longer. This one already was. C'mon Favreau, Deborah Chow & Taika, LET'S GO!

The bar for the Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan series keeps getting higher and higher. If the quality and tone of those are comparable to The Mandalorian, we could be entering a very special time for Star Wars fans.

I still can't believe we get new high quality live action Star Wars content right in our living rooms every week!

I agree. Now Face could always dress as BY and then Mando could let the Baddies take him and boom they got their guys!!! A Team Mando crossover.

This is completely true. 100% lol. I’m also super happy that everyone who has posted so far hasn’t been nitpicking and hating on the show. Keep it up and thank you (Start a new thread if you really got to hate on Mando).

I to was satisfied Kralia Mario Vizla. This episode (for me) brought me back to more of a Star Wars Rebels time where Ezra and the crew of the ghost have a job and things go south. Thinking on his feet to say ahead of impending doom. Also, being captured and escaping felt SUPER Rebels lol.

I for one thought it was awesome that we get a look into Mando’s origins and see how far he’s come and how his code affects his decisions. If Mando was a force user he would have made a great Jedi. That being said I think he’s gonna be a great role model for TINY. If a low down dirty scoundrel was raising him I’d say we were gonna get our first look at a Yoda species going full Darkside but not with Mando raising him.

Lastly, Rodney-2187, you are so right! The bar has been set a good ways up there. Both show are going to have to keep pace with the Mandolorian. I also hope they have good hand offs to each other. What I mean to say is, Obi-Wan is more then likely going to walk into that cantina on Tatooine. So I think once they get up and running we’re going to see all three shows in one place () and seeing it progress through the years.

I for one can’t wait till next week. Plot movement or not (again Rodney-2187) we are getting High Def, nostalgic, Star Wars nectar. If you don’t agree I don’t care.

Also (yes I just posted but this is a separate thought), I’m glad (ecstatic really) that the plot line is unpredictable!!! I would hate to be watching and say “man I knew this was coming!” It keeps you on your toes. I’m happy to wait a week just to be blown away by what our boys are doing with the show!

There's no predicting the action in upcoming episodes. I like that. Each Episode is so different from the previous one. Kinda looks like Mando has gone no killing of living entities and only wanting to slay Droids. The Droid he knocked off, (fixing to shoot BabyY) and the idiots are left in jail. Wonder if they'll get food. Poor human, I'm guessing tech, pot shotted, and of course Mando doesn't want him dead.

Somewhere along the line, Mando is going to have to get in there and have some conversations with BabyY. Mando seems to be blind to BabyY's potential, even after seeing him lift the Mud Horn. He sees a baby, but not one he's particularly interested in. It's just a baby. That was valuable. And he doesn't want to kill babies, kids or even humanoids if he can avoid it, which means he's going to have to choose killing "bad" guys over killing just any humanoid that is part of a mission. Droids are fair game. Getting picky gonna mean some tight money days coming.

After one viewing, I think this was one of my favorite episodes. I loved the different characters of the mercenaries... the fire-proof devil man... the Harley-Quinn-esque Twilek X-lover(<Hiss>)... Etc. Great pacing-and great self-contained story with a cameo by Mr. Filoni himself!
While watching zero hunting down Tiny, I got the sense that it was Tiny hunting him, playing Zero like a cat with a mouse!
It did not carry the main plot forward, and I am beginning to be ok with that... I am enjoying each episode for what it is, knowing that there will be more than one season. I am also wondering what has happened to this mandalorian that has given him an aversion to killing...
    And the X-wings!!!!!
9 out of 10. Keep em coming!!!!

Here's a question for you detail people among us. The Mando set off some Whistling Birds on Burg (with the horns) that had no effect. I think there were four? Plus he used four in Ep. 3. How many does he have left?

    Let's see ;)

    Me too.

This is exactly one of the best parts of the show. Really love every time I press play button and don't know what I will see.

Maybe a wise decision will be using the same level production but giving a different tone to differenciate from The Mandalorian. Can't wait.

And my opinion of episode 6. Far better than 4 and 5. I needed this 3 episodes to habituate with the general tone: independent stories with slow story evolution. Maybe this one, without saying almost anything, the story move forward better, from a certain point of view. Maybe that's why I have enjoyed it more than previous ones.

    -Really liked the mood.
-Love seeing ships and hangars in Star Wars. Love to see more of the Razor Crest personality. I love to see it like another character.
-Some great tension is built in the prison. Really cool set.
-Supporting characters are cool. Specially the droid. Love the droid. It's difficult to show a new kind of droid with a different personality and they have done it.
-It's cool to see the classic Xwings in action. When we see this, it's when you feel you're watching SW. This connections are necessary.
-Filoni is not the best actor in the world and it has not the best presence in front of a camera but his cameo is cool. ;P
-Gungan joke was hilarious and got ardennian presence (Favreau Solo's spieces character).
