It seemed like they didn't "detect" him...? They went straight at the stormtroopers like heat-seeking missiles. Maybe because Burg was immune to fire, he was immune to the whistling birds too.

 

I’ll have to watch the episode again, but I don’t think they had enough room to fly around and ended up hitting the walls and ceiling instead. Or maybe he was too hot?

 

I'll just sum up this episode in gif.

 

about those birds, i think it's just a single bird that does all the damage. it's like Yondu's whatever thing: you deploy one and it devastates everything in the radius. in the case of Burg, i think it was just ineffectual; looked to me like it was bouncing off him? i only have watched it once, so i'm not sure.

p.s. i also totally got that Harley Quinn vibe. XD

it was interesting that he didn't kill any of them, ultimately.
and yet he technically killed the other two on the station (along with whoever else might have been there). and what's with the New Republic just shooting without asking questions. oh my.

I feel like he’s more of an AP5 than Doza’s droid. I feel like Doza’s is a later model.

 

I love that Matt Lanter (Clone Wars Anakin) was the New Republic guard!

 

I feel (like a lot of people have said) it was part of the Harley Quinn motif. Natalia Tina does get when she’s doing a feral type role. I think she played Xi’an great. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing her again. She’s definitely got issues with Mando now lol.

I loved the episode overall but this too was my favorite. You nailed it right on the head. I thought of rouge one as well. This scene also showed me that Mando is even more of a badass than originally thought.

 

I loved the whole episode, but The Child looking at his hand after Zero was shot may be my favorite moment of the series so far.

 

I rewatched...it looks like only one bird that bounces off, as you say... Hard to tell though.

Yeah, I was very confused about what the NR was going to do to the station. Sure, blow up the gunship that's launching. But it really looked like they were going to destroy the whole station...? The two were running, so they seemed to think there was a chance of escape, but...

 

My kids are currently watching the new episode And love it so far. Now those are real critics lol. They will say straight away if something is “stupid”! We are a House of Star Wars. My son has most of my old room decorations for his Galaxy Far Far away (my wife decked our room out in Star Wars while I was in the field). All in all I’m super proud of out tribe. This is the way!

 

Coolest Star Wars episode ever! I mean cool like super punk rock cool! Love the fang licking Twi'Lek.

Beautiful action, fun scrappy sequences, great running time for the story, with a “heist-vibe” theme.

This is precisely what I “signed up for”.
The ‘Star Wars’ I’ve craved and lusted for since 1983.

 

OK, enough superlatives for the new episode. Let's do some critics too ( otherwise they may get too sloppy )

1. Twi'leks behavior was very animalistic, sometimes even disgusting. I think they considerably overdid that part. Especially if you know that most of them are natural talents in dancing and martial arts. They are graceful race. And that they are one of the two most attractive looking races in Star Wars universe.

2. Droids are still very stupid. Programming didn't change them for centuries. They attack the target head on and die in numbers. Their reflexes are much faster than any human can be, jet their martial arts skills suck. They lack communication with the ship and their teams are not synchronized.

3. Security droids, sentry droids and utility droids are not connected with the ship. If a team of security droids is attacked it doesn't send distress signal and their teams are not coordinated. Their is no central locking, or any sort of escape prevention mechanism too.

4. The droid ship is manned by a single man. Haha, what happens when he fall asleep or goes to the toilet?

5. The servo arm of the security droid is operating even when separated from his body. And it opens the door exactly when needed.

6. The hatch of the prison ship opens and there is no alarm, no team is send to check, no indication ... just everyone is surprised ... oh such a nice surprise to see you here, welcome to our ship!

7. Razor Crest jumps from hyperspace approaches the transport and get docket without triggering any suspicion or any alarm. Their sensors are jammed and this is also not detected. So ... what kind of armored transport is this without sensors and without proper security perimeter?

8. Prison ship got no escorts. Sitting duck waiting to be shoot at.

9. Sentry droids, yeah those big black guys on repursorlift, explode when they hit the ground. Olala, be careful with my guard droid he will explode if hit and will wreck the whole ship!

10. Blaster bolts bounce off the body of the droids, and the walls too, but when hitting the head goes through like butter. Same droid get disabled when falling on the ground. And if you pull his arm strong it will break and separate from the body. Just get ordinary 1" steel bar and try to break it with bare hands, the droids are supposed to be made of durasteel, kind of fictional super steel, which is much tough than steel.

11. Droids get disabled when falling on the ground or accidentally hitting the walls. Tech is not very robust those days, a? Very cheap are those droids made.

12. Vibroblade knife cuts through droids armor. I wander why he bothers to carry blaster if he can kill everything with his knife. Probably he can cut the cell walls with this knife too and escape.

13. X-Wings open fire on the platform but they left Razor Crest fly through almost without noticing it.

14. The platform has no guns, no shield and no fighters to dispatch. Completely defenseless in the middle of nowhere. What kind of business are they doing?

15. Once the only pilot is disabled and the guard droids too, the ship becomes completely headless. No intelligence of any kind, no security too, it is just floating through space.

16. Emergency lights activate without obvious reason. Red blinking emergency lights. Otherwise the ship is not in distress and security droids are not send everywhere to lock in the corridors.

17. The team boards that armored and guarded transport armed only with pistols. The twi'lek armed with throwing knifes Mayfeld armed with 5 light pistols. Even the muscle Burg carrying only pistols. The only one having a rifle was the droid but he stayed on the other ship

 

The scene with the bird, looked to me as if during the fight, the Devaronian inadvertently struck the gauntlet.
Causing one of the birds to misfire and just fly at random without a target.

 

I had the same impression. It was not fired on purpose and did not hit any target.
