Am I crazy, because I assume those are the Knights of Ren standing behind Kylo Ren in Rey's premonition in Maz's basement. In Rey's vision, we see Luke Skywalker place his mechanical hand on R2, Kylo Ren put his lightsaber through a guard, and the general encounter in the forest (all these have come to fruition). The one thing we haven't seen is the dudes are standing behind Kylo Ren in her vision (which I have to consider a premonition at this point).

I LOVE Kylo Ren in both episodes, tbh. Adam Driver is so excellent in the role.

Not sure what that's supposed to mean, but you are setting yourself up for disappointment with all this speculation/headcanon that you are doing. They're simply not gonna deliver on every example that you bring up.

I repeat this all the time, if I survived The Last Jedi nothing can dissapoint me anymore.
I am living trough what is very likely last 2 years of my following of Star Wars , and if Rey is not Skywalker I am simply leaving , because of how Luke Skywalker has been treated in conjuncture of how Rey is portrayed. It may look very crude criterion, but its actually very complex formula that I substracted and shoretened in this simple equation.
    Rey /Skywalker = Future / Star Wars.
There is no anger, just intellectual process of my slow divorce from something that was my life long love.
So my posts, and reactions, as a truly old and dedicated Star Wars fan, should be observed as my best attempt to save "my marriage" with Star Wars, though I know its unlike this is possible.New people, new views.

    But, hope dies last.

    Hmmm no.

I am definitely not pro Reylo! If you ready any of my posts about it I am not for it. Further the fact that Rey rushing off to try and bring Kylo to the light because Luke wouldn't was her failure. Luke warned her, "This isn't going to go the way you think." Meaning he isn't going to see the light. He isn't going to become a jedi. When Kylo offered his affections they were conditional on her joing him ruling the galaxy and her not joining him was a betrayal. Reylo is dead.

No why do I think Luke is gone. Because he faded away like Yoda. So unless they are changing things his time on camera going forward will be as a ghost. But that has nothing to do with Mara. My point is the mid 90's when still action hero looking Luke could have met eligible bad girl former Emperor's hand and they might have had the opportunity to tell a good story. I don't want to meet some girl that Luke met 20 years ago to waltz in and be announced as Luke's ex. There is no story there. It misses the opportunity to enjoy the romance. Replacing it with "hi I'm Mara I once fell in Love with Luke." Its even worse if she is Rey's mom and Luke is her dad. "Yeah I loved Luke and oh by the way not only did he come to Achto to die and leave the fight behind . When his own daughter came to him with an aching desire for a mentor to show her the truth of the Force he didn't even bother to mention it."

Could it happen and somehow still be enjoyable to watch. Maybe its possible but I will still feel that they retconed things needlessly. And put an event that will never be in the Saga films that is arguably the most important life event in Luke's story.

But at the end, it would hurt the franchise in this or other way.

They could permanently lost portion of fans by TLJ ,and next portion with Ep IX. It would be horrific lost because its most fanatic fans that would be lost, those that buy tickets, films, books, buy toys, other stuff, and were maintaining Star Wars awareness amongst general population like a pilgrims, including their children.(my best man's awesome daughter has name Leia- she is walking ode to original Star Wars for entire her life, my wife's brother oldest son is named Luke after Skywalker). ...so on a long run its indeed unpredictable risk of lost .Even to some degree a cultural shock within this population.

I am surprised that Disney didnt know, or believed what Star Wars is and how many people, rationaly or irrationaly (it doesn't matter its their custommers) are attached to Star Wars.

They thought yeah someone said so, ok, but isn't truth?.Ok, we do it the way that will show them its superior to their view of Star Wars. and prrrrp, almost 100 % drop of income from ep VII. to VIII.( counting not just box office but all merchandise return, toys sales, books , memorabilia , video games..)

Daisy Ridley said( her views obviously menthored by J.J. Abrams)--"oh I didn't know why are they asking me all the time who are my parens? That this is so important to them.Dear Daisy when they ask this its like they are asking you is there life in the Universe, or what is the meaning of life.

They are having in fact a bussines with a form of religion. It is not like classic religion, but some kind of religion this has indeed became over the decades. For millions. Its more than escapeism that Mike Hamill believe it is.people are irrational beings, and irattional beings go to theaters.

And 3 worst approaches to any religion (which trough history actually caused blodiest wars, in this case it will just let say cut in half their profits ) is to try to:

    1. Change the religion in a way you want.
    2. Try to make it not a religion, neglecting its significance.
    3. Persecute members of religion--It makes it even stronger trough martyrdom of them, or their icons.( some already consider Luke to be a martyr.)

Change can succeed , but it never goes smoothly as intended, but trough prolonged periods of unrest, dissent and..is marked by " crysis".( in this case $ )
