Mark Hamill gives some interesting tidbits about the direction of a possible Sequel Trilogy and the nature of the Luke Skywalker character in it.

    "Now don't get jittery Luke.."

Wow, I think that must be the one line that I didn't remember from ROTJ.

I remember there was so much speculation in 1983, 1984, 1985 about future trilogies. There was no internet back then, so you were kinda at the mercy of any gossip you heard from friends about the movies, or you just waited each summer to see if a new SW movie was coming out.

I still remember in 1987, I was in 8th grade history class when a friend of mine told me he read that Lucas was done with Star Wars, and there would be no sequel trilogy. It was around the 10th anniversary of Star Wars, so he read it in some interview with Lucas. I remember being so mad when I heard that cause I always wanted atleast a Sequel Trilogy (many of my friends preferred the Prequels), and that is why seeing the teaser yesterday was sort of surreal cause it took me back to 8th grade and things have finally come full circle.

Would you go as far as to say:
    "The circle is now complete.."?

"...another plane of existence, or not the same character. I can't go into it too much without going into sensitive material."

    O___O what the!

The potential for what this could mean sounds wild

Yeah, the little hints that Hamill lets out are interesting. It makes me think that his interviews from the period ought to be mined for more of this stuff.

It seems Mark Hamill was a confidant of George Lucas' ideas.

I know what you mean. I remember reading in Starlog magazines from the period, where they had interviews with Lucas, Dykstra, and other people working on the Original Trilogy, all saying how there were going to be nine movies. Once we got into the late 80s and 90s I didn't really ever think it was going to materialize. So it's great to see 35 year old promises that were made finally come to fruition.

Sounds a lot like what we've heard about Luke so far...uber powerful to the point of insanity and not being quite who we expect.
