Righ5 so I finally saw Infinity War yesterday & I was still Spoiler Free so thank you Cantina for keeping all the IW spoilers in this thread which I have avoided since IW was released.

& the film was definitely better for going in spoiler free. So there is a lot to take in the way it was broken down into the various groups really worked for me.
Having Iron Man & Dr strange team up or but heads was a joy to watch plus add SpiderMan & Star Lord to the mix provide some great moments.
Thor Rocket (Little Rabbit) & Grot fantastic & Thor’s entrance to Wakanda now that is how the god of thunder should arrive & Banners reaction. Talking of Banner loved how he was trying to get the Hulk to come out though out the film after Hulks beating by Thanos at the start.
Loved Vision & Scarlet Witch I’m going to take a punt that Scarlet Witch & the whole end scenes where she finally does what he has been asking her to do for most of the film & Thanos just undoes it with a twist of the gauntlet & her expression really got me.

In terms of deaths I know we are getting another SpiderMam but damm did that hit home Tom Holland really sold it & Gamora That one really hit hard & unlike Spider-Man her death maybe more final as it happed before Thanos snapped his fingers .

Any way this is getting a bit long so will wrap it up in saying this is definitely my favourite Avengers movie & probably in my top 10 MCU though I haven’t thought about ranking them as much as I do SW movies. Anyway I have a second showing booked for mid June at my local cinema which always has a great atmosphere & should be absolutely packed as it a Saturday afternoon showing so I will probably come back with a few more thoughts after that.

I understand what you're saying and you're probably right – they did it just so they could get rid of that issue/subplot. But yeah, I agree that it was lazy. It would not have been difficult for Rhodes to disobey orders without completely throwing Gen. Ross and the entire government under the bus. He did not have to do a full 180 from where he stood in Civil War.

I'm not trying to make it sound like it was one individual who was the problem, but my logic still stands. Jesus Christ, did the entire US government collapse when Richard Nixon resigned? Oliver North and David Petraeus are a few of the more well-known military scandals. Did their respective branches of the military simply go away after they did with they did? No, of course not. You expose and punish those doing wrong, not anyone and everyone who works with them.

And so what if SHIELD was fully infiltrated? Does that mean you hold every other branch of the government accountable going forward? Of course not.

Cap is obviously not calm or rational in how he approaches these things at all. His M.O. is paranoia, distrust, and doing whatever he wants.

One of the few things I did not care for in the movie was that I did not think many of the deaths were particularly moving. I just feel like they had very little impact because we know that it's all going to be undone at some point. The ones who faded away though, that was pretty well done.

Great video from MovieBob that I think could quell some of the issues people have with certain major points in Infinity War.

Is the Hulk too weak in the MCU? I think he's only won one fight - the first one with Thor. After that, it's all loses.

IW has passed the 2 billion dollar mark and is only the fourth movie in history to pass that mark.

It looks like it will stay on the fourth place, and not pass TFA.

Has anyone seen Ant-Man and The Wasp yet? CREDIT SCENE SPOILERS.

So Hope, Hank and Janet get dusted and Scott is stuck in the Quantic Realm. I forgot about the others that might get dusted or not. Scott's sidekicks are still a question mark however.

    Yes.

I give it a 6.5/10. The humour and overall storyline is a drop in quality compared to that of the first, the "villain" is shallow, rushed and gets outstaged by the secondary antagonist, and he doesn't do anything other than providing humour.

This is more of a character-driven film, much to the detriment of the rest of it.

Does Thanos kind of have a point? You can turn on the news at pretty much any point throughout any given day and see examples of just how terrible people are and/or how overpopulated we are, but I was reminded this the other day while riding my bike.

I'm on this bike trail and it was alongside a river. The river stank something terrible. It smelled a toilet a toilet from the dive bar. It just reminded me that there are so many people in this world that we actually dump our blast and garbage into the ocean, other bodies of water, or into a hole in the ground.

Animals blast and piss wherever they want, and aside from the occasional lake getting too polluted, they generally don't create too much of a problem.

Thanos is right, there are too many people in this world.

Thanos is right in pointing to the problem of overpopulation. We start to feel the effects of overpopulation and the polution going with it, and it will only grow worse the more people come on this earth. It will not be for our lifetime, but our children and grandchildren will face a lot of problems due to overpopulation (not enough clean water, not enough food, more natural disasters, more deseases, ....).

The problem with Thanos is his solution for this problem (morally, it's just completely wrong).

It also completely fails to fix the problem for more than a short period of time.
Because, and this is a shocker, people will want to Blast and make new people.
Then we're back at square one with his plan.

To him, it makes sense. To anyone who can math, it doesn't.

Indeed, his plan only works on the short term, but not on the long term (he only bought a couple of 100 years time, but there will be a point in time that the overpopulation problem is back).

Which is why Thanos isn't right in anyway.
Overpopulation isn't the problem, misuse of resources is.

The best way to solve this is actually to expand livable area. Drought resistant crops. Finding ways to make fertile crops in infertile areas. Etc etc etc.

So yeah, Thanos wasn't right. lol

If Ultron succeeds, then does Thanos spare Earth? (probably not, but what does Ultron do...if he lives? Oh god, we're turning this into the E.U. now)
