Just remember, if we're meant to believe Cap is in the main timeline and married Peggy Carter, then Sharon is his granddaughter (biological or step), and he made out with her and may or may not have slept with her .

In the main timeline all it was was a kiss and nothing more. As far as sleeping with her is concerned. I highly, highly doubt that happened. Remember Cap was on the run after the events of Civil War and before Infinity War. He wouldn't have had time for fonduing. Also, in that timeline (Old Cap) I guess there where two Caps. It's possible that they assumed he just survived the crash and thought none of it. They would have no clue of time travel.

Except remember the film ends in the original timeline, not one of the branching ones they create. Every time they change the past they create a different timeline, which is why Cap returns to the past to put the stones back, preventing these branching timelines from even happening, and preserving the original timeline they're in. However, in the original timeline Cap isn't even married to Peggy, so he shouldn't even be there as an old man. The time travel in the film is broken, there shouldn't even be another cap, unless the film decided to end on a new timeline and not show what happened to the original.

I forget what Hulk said. It was something like for him it should take X years, but for us five seconds. When it turned out it was 'longer' I think that's why he's "old Cap". I thought the goal was to put the stones the Quantum Realm?

    100% correct.

No, stones go to it's original time and place from which they were taken to preserve original timeline. But, every change they made made is another branch.

    Discussion on @GingerByte's point:
I don't think they are back to the "original timeline" i.e. before Endgame. They have created a new past and present through everything that happened. This timeline includes their going back in time, getting the stones, and Hulk snapping his fingers bringing everyone back. However, I can sort of see @Andrew Waples point too, if Cap went back and put all the stones back where they were, would that change the future thereby none of this happened? Gotta admit, I did not see this coming at all with this movie and just another thing we will be discussing for a long time.

When Cap got to say Avengers Assemble! I wanted to scream f*** yes! A it's a call back to Age of Ultron, except he got to finish.

While I liked that very much, bigger Cap fist pump moment for me was when he lifted the Mjolnir and wielded the power of Thor. Also, Thor's reaction. :D

/\ Definitely this - it got a huge roar from audience on both visits!

so my one, potentially dim question... if Widow sacrificed herself for the Soul Stone, but Cap’s job was to return them all at the point they were taken from then does that mean It pre-empty Widow’s death or just that Clint never takes it from Vormir?

I think it's none of these two options.

I think they must ensure that the gem is there for Thanos to take it first time around. So that everything that led to Clint taking it can happen. Otherwise, like Ancient One said, they'll create a branch timeline. It's hard to explain, lol.

But let's also say that they screwed up so much in New York that they created a bunch of new timelines in the process. One being Loki's. :D

So now the new thing going around is the fact that, in the scene in Age of Ultron where they all try and lift Mjolnir, Cap actually moves it a little - and Thor notices.....I just watched it on YT and yes it happens

that’s one of my favourite bits in AOU, which is why
Thor’s reaction is the emphatic “I knew it!” in Endgame as it, much like Cap finally uttering the “Avengers Assemble!” is a payoff several movies (and years) in the making

Okay, the Russos have clarified one of the issues:
When Cap got with Peggy in 1970, he did create a new timeline, but he somehow returned to the original timeline.

Also, I see people claiming Thanos was dusted in 2023, but that would ruin the timeline. Thanos still has to be back in 2014 to live until his death years later at the hands of Thor. This mean 2014 Gamora still needs to return to 2014, and past Nebula has probably been resurrected and sent back in time with Thanos and his army...

...unless past Thanos is considered an aberration, and Cap removes Nebula from play before the message is transmitted, so 2014 Thanos who travels to 2023 never existed.

Eugh, time travel does my head in!

So finally got to see it yesterday & yes it’s a good actually it’s very good MCU film but I have to say I actually enjoyed all the build up to the finale as I just found there was way to much going on at the end to keep track of everything.

[IMG] Sometimes you just have to run with it. That's what I did. I enjoyed Endgame a hell of a more of having that mindset versus, "wait how does this all make sense." Cap went back in time to have a life with Peggy. I doubt Fiege and the Brothers didn't think that hard about it.

To know we won't get an Avengers film for a long time makes me want a cheeseburger. :(

Which is why you need to see it at least twice... as does everyone who enjoyed it, just to ensure that it crushes Avatar’s takings :p

I wonder if they where setting up a Iron Woman movie? Not sure if the comics had one, but they introduce it with Pepper and what if they continue it with Morgan?

wouldn't it be easier to have a spoiler tagged thread so you guys could post normally? lol

it's near on impossible to catch up on a thread that has pages & pages of spoiler tags that need to be opened up
