absolutely. Imo the first one holds a candle to Iron Man when it comes to comedy

You guys planning on seeing Ant-Man and The Wasp? Both do a good job at setting up the events of Endgame.

we're both in Home-Office, with plenty of time to watch something entertaining on second screen, so yes, maybe later this afternoon. @NinjaRen has already seen both, but I haven't. It's been a year since we have seen Endgame, it's all just a blur to
me... so all the work setting up the events will be lost on me

In sad and shocking news, Chadwick Boseman has passed away after battling Stage IV colon cancer. Boseman was diagnosed in 2016, and continued to fight the good fight while starring in ground-breaking and icon-making roles. Boseman's work in biopics was masterful, and his time as T'Challa inspired - and will continue to inspire - a generation. Rest In Power, King.

I obviously disagree with your opinion but that's okay. To each their own and to be fair, I don't hate it as I enjoy every MCU film but just find it among the weakest

It's a Tony Stark movie that people expected to be an Iron Man movie.
I get the disappointment but outside of a botched 3rd act, it's one of the more introspective MCU movies

A week late but no dollars shorter, the Wandavision trailer. I'm pretty sure we've all seen it, but I'm posting it here just in case someone hasn't.

Hey Marvel fans, first of all, SHANG-CHI was frapping awesome.

Second of all, did you notice that
the ending of the second post credit scene looked A LOT like the post credit scene at the very end of The Mandalorian?

It didn't occur to me at the time, but I can see what you're getting at. They're obviously dangling that character's thread as part of a possible future threat storyline.

The big surprise for me was the reappearance of Trevor Slattery - like he promised previously I really didn't see that coming!

OK so Denis Villeneuve's comments about "comic book movies" got me thinking....

I am at sort of a "strange" point in MCU movies for me right now. See if you can follow this.....I am more interested, now, in how new MCU movies "fit into" the larger Universe they have created, moreso than the individual movies themselves.

For example....Shang-Chi, for me , I am more interested in how Shang-Chi will fit into the new Avengers and what his powers mean, etc.

I can get that. I think my interest in the MCU peaked with Infinity War/Endgame and the culmination of that story arc. I'm definitely keen to see where Spidey, Thor and the Guardians stories go with their next respective outings, but knowing that Tony, Steve and Natasha's time is done has taken a bit of the edge off for me. Based on the new TV show trailer you can also see Hawkeye bowing out too, meaning only Banner and Odinson will remain from the original 'leads' roster... albeit more than capably supported by Bucky, Sam, Rhodey, Wanda etc.

I think the new and upcoming characters will need to have some really compelling stories in them for the viewing population to remain as invested.

For me, the only way I'll lose interest in the MCU is if the films and shows start to falter story wise, which can occur. I've noticed people that are not comic collectors lose interest quickly, stating that they have comic movie fatigue, which is normal, the stories that are published are very much different from the live action content, for example civil war, future/past, and Injustice.

In the Marvel Universe characters never remain deceased, they return with a new creative team, reborn with a new take or story line. It will be interesting to see how the MCU handles characters that have passed, or how others will take on the mantle.

Yeah, I like the idea of Sam as Cap for example, that works and there's the rumoured Rhi Rhi Williams as Ironheart. I guess I'm less into the idea of every deceased/exited character needing to be replaced - for example, Florence Pugh was a fine Black Widow, but do we need a direct replacement?
