    I hope they get it. Disney has huge wads of cash to throw about so I'm sure they can offer Sony more than they will make with The Mediocre Spider-Man 3 & 4 and the Not-So-Sinister Six.

    Sony is getting desperate so they may be ready to cave in exchange for the publicity. Their Spider-Man cinematic universe is a mess, and Spidey 2 did disappointing box office. Going forward without Emma Stone in the wake of MCU, Apocalypse and Supes V. Batman isn't promising for them. They desperately need a shot in the arm and Spidey in the MCU would give it to them. If it can make Thor movies profitable, imagine what it would do for Marvel's most popular character.

    Another thing to consider is Sony does not get merchandising rights to Spider Man so this is a big loss to profits. The only money they make is off the movies which in the case of the last movie was minimum.

    Exactly. I became a Thor fan because of the MCU. I could imagine a decent Spidey TV series as well.

    If Marvel can make Captain America cool to people in Japan, China and everywhere else in the international market then just imagine what they can do with Spider Man.

    They need the Fantasic Four too. I really hope that Josh Trank's reboot tanks,,, see what I did there?
    The FF would be a great addition to the Secret Wars story line if they go that way.
    Plus they too would make a good TV series.

    I agree. Silver Surfer is also one of my favorites so he needs to go home to Marvel where he belongs and who would not like to see Doctor Doom square off with Tony Stark!

    As I type this Marvel short list has been revealed. Another star wars actor Oscar Isaac is on it. Others inclue Jake Gyllenhaal, Jared Leto, Ethan Hawke and my personal favorite Matthew McConaughey. Couple of really good Marvel news days back to back.

    With Disney's deep pocket I could see them getting Spidey back and they should. Although I like Garfield as Spidey do they re-re-boot or go with him and continue the debacle that Sony started?

    Also heard Downey JR wasn't interested in doing any more Iron Mans . . . . but I hope he does. This storyline sounds awesome, although a bit of a ripoff of DC's Batman v Superman drama. :p

    I think that Batman VS Superman could potentially outgross Captain America And Iron Man's Sort-Of Civil War even though DC is only now getting up on their feet. While Marvel has made quite the name for themselves with their franchises, the film rights their most successful titles outside of Avengers (Spider-Man and X-Men) both belong to their competitors. DC, on the other hand, has access to all of its properties, and both Batman and Superman have had a history of doing well at the box office (the former especially). I think Dawn Of Justice will be seen more as a "big event" movie than Marvel's answer to it, and it is being released at a less competitve time at the box office, but I'm sure both will be great and do great.

    The only thing I don't get is why DC can't see the success of Marvel's movies as a great template for assembling the Justice League. My concern for B v S is that they try to squeeze in all these characters and the movie gets lost in sprawl. I really think it should solely focus on Batman and Superman and that the other characters get their own movies to develop them before bringing them all together.
