    Wowzers!

Maul has come along way, he is arguably the most resilent Sith of all time!
Now, I always thought he would meet his end by the hands of Vader....
But, obviously now, I feel like he could bite the dust at the hands of Ben!
Would be super fitting and almost poetic!

I truly believe, Maul could and probably would wipe the floor with Vader.
Mostly because he's now approaching his 50's, he smarter, stronger and more intuned with the force than he's ever been and I just think his athletic prowess is so much higher than Vaders at this stage!

Why I think Ben? Well, I think they might use Rebels to explain why Ben appears so stiff and slow in OT, I think they will meet, and Obi Wan will be badly injured but ultimately kills Maul and uses his last years to heal really.

Just a thought though! MY ultimate, is he survives right through and appears in EP VIII, even as a Master. I would just die! DIE I TELL YOU!

    What are yours?

It would be cool to see him in VIII if he fights Ben in Rebels and Ben thinks he is dead but I don't think he will be...

I know Yoda was able to jump around like a gnat in AOTC when fighting Dooku, and he was 900 years old, with the help of the force, of course; Ben Kenobi on the other hand, looked stiff and slow in the OT simply because he was playing the role of that old, crazy, wizard. Anywho,I had to defend Old Ben Kenobi because he is my favorite character. Ob1 sliced Maul in half in his prime, he shouldn't be walking around but if he wants a rematch lets go! hahaha Great thread btw! Awesome pic of Maul!

Cool pic @Lord Revanous but I voted not die just yet. I can see a Sidious rematch in his future.

It is a bit hard to reconcile the Ben we saw in ANH fighting against the Maul we've seen very recently and faring well. But they do have an out that could actually enhance the OT and give a reason for Obi-Wan's less-than-impressive outing against Vader. In Rebels he could still be spry yet seasoned enough to challenge and take down Maul but sustain some serious injury in the effort that permanently hampers his fighting abilities, which we would later witness the effects of in ANH.

I never understood the disrespect that Luke showed Obi-wan once he knew that Ben was not his real name. Maybe disrespect is too hard of a word, but sometimes all a man has is his name. Ben was an alias that was made up. Once Luke learned the truth he should have called him by his real name. Heck, then instead of naming Han and Leia's son Obi-wan, they then name him Ben.. which in turn is named after no one. Leia only knew him as Obi-wan, as that was the only name she ever called him in the OT. Sorry, just my rant, LOL.

The back and forth of this thread with him being called both names just got me thinking about this again.

I guess the Obi Wan name was there's to remember & the galaxy knowing didn't matter.

Hmmm, I must say that I don't think I could "wipe the floor with Vader." I may be more athletic, but we are both half machines now, and whether I like to admit it or not, he is much more powerful in the Force. ;)

But more seriously, I see Maul getting killed, once and for all, by Obi Wan. That would neatly wrap up that story and would be the best way to go. Plus, we don't know if Vader will show up in Rebels again, while Kenobi is becoming more and more likely.

I voted Obi-Wan, just feel like that makes the most sense story wise. I don't think he would wipe the floor with Vader. In Twilight of the Apprentice, Maul says that he is trying to get the 2 jedi and 1 part-timer to stay because he could not beat Vader alone. (Granted he was spewing a lot of lies to Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka but still)

I think he'll die by Kenobi, but Maul is a tough mf, so I don't doubt that he'll survive and appear on the next Star Wars animated series.

Ben is strong with Jedi Mind trick. He would have Maul swatting flies. Old Ben's body may not be what it once was but his mind tricks are more powerful than you can possibly imagine!

Well I could understand Luke still calling him Ben.
He knew him for nearly 20 years as "Old Ben Kenobi"

I mean, I still called a teacher I had when I was in 3rd grade Mrs. K when I ran into her the other day despite us being peers more or less and I hadn't seen her in probably 15 years lol.

I sympathize with Maul, especially in Rebels, as his dialogue just displays how he knows his ambitions have always caused greater losses. I mean, it's bad enough he got cut in half, but this guy lost control of a planet, his brother, his mother and the Nightsisters, etc. Now, so broken and defeated, he still tries to gain something in this galaxy, but with little influence or power left, even Ezra has pushed him away. In desperation he wishes Ezra could be like his brother. As evil as he is, he's no true villain. He just can't change who he is completely. Maul goes to fight Kenobi, as a chance to win something. And this something is to get back to where he started, but nearly 30 years after. He just wants to win! And he mostly will, hurting Obi-Wan severely, a man who is very rusty and becoming disconnected to the physical world, but he won't win, and dies in agony. For good.

I'm going to suggest something crazy and unlikely.

Maul doesn't want to kill Obi-Wan.

Let's go back to the first time Ezra and Maul met on Malachor. Maul spit absolute venom when Ezra called him a Sith. It's obvious that he hates that title and has realized how he was manipulated by them. In some ways this could mean that Maul's defeat at the hands of Obi-Wan "freed" him from his chains. Yeah, yeah I know that flies in the face of the Sith mantra.

But what if he's grateful to have been set free. Free to chase his own dreams, questionable as they might be. He's never going to be a good guy, I don't think - but what if he is seeking out Obi-Wan to thank him for giving him that freedom? Perhaps Maul has to do that as sort of his own "life debt" to Kenobi in some macabre way. No embrace, no brotherly love, no friendship, just a slow, cautious "thank you", and then Maul disappears forever. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen redemption play out in the galaxy.

It's an interesting theory, but have you seen The Clone Wars?

I don't think Maul is super in love with Obi Wan. And, to be honest, I'd say the feeling's mutual.

I feel like the Maul-Kenobi dual won't be in rebels. Rebels will be used to build up Maul's journey to find Kenobi but the final battle will happen in the long-awaited obi-wan film.

    We can only hope so!
Enjoy! It's a good one. I might make a suggestion, though- look up the Chronological order. Clone Wars, especially the first few seasons, is told wildly out of order. It might make more sense if one were to watch the episodes in the order that they happen, as there doesn't appear to be a particular reason for the weird order they were originally arranged.

Maul should have been left alone at the end of TPM, dead in the pit.
