Kanan and Ezra will confront Maul just before he gets to OB1. Vader will show up and you will see Maul, Kanan and Ezra fight Vader. Kanan will die, Ezra will be badly mauled. Maul will be on the verge of killing Vader and Ahsoka will come out of the shadows and kill Maul just before he would have ended Darth Vader.

Ahsoka will pick Ezra up. giving Vader a nasty disgusted look while he lays wounded. She places Ezra in her space ship and tells him they are leaving forever. You will see her plot some ridiculously long route way out past the rim and tell Ezra they must leave and never return.

You will then see Vader hanging naked, breathing heavy in a bacta tank, staring out into nothingness angrier than ever. End of show.

Probably not but would be cool scene to watch lol.

Before the trailer, I was assuming that if there was a showdown, it would be inevitable that Obi-Wan kills Maul, to close out his arc - predictable, but (arguably) necessary.

After seeing the trailer, and hearing a few things said by others, I now feel pretty confident that it won't be that simple - and hopefully that will make for a better story.

I think Maul *will* have a different agenda than we would assume on the surface. Yes, in the Clone Wars they fought previously, and he harbored hate and revenge for him. However, he spent many years in the Sith temple - that could have allowed him to strengthen that lust for revenge, OR it could have been a time for him to shift his feelings otherwise. Maul did get some revenge on Kenobi with the death of Satine, so it could be that his revenge was at least partially complete, and his time in the temple led him to another way forward.

Obi-Wan, however, *will* now be firmly in the mindset of revenge against Maul for killing Satine, unless his time alone (if communing with Qui-gon and possibly Yoda classifies as alone) allowed him to move past these feelings.

That flipped dynamic would be much more interesting than simply two warriors that hate one another finally meeting and duking it out.

Just because the trailer shows Maul's lightsaber igniting first doesn't mean that is the way it will be in the actual episode.

All of that said, there is just no possible way in my mind that Maul will show up in a feature film. Not going to happen. Doing so would get hailed as the Star Wars jump the shark moment by the movie-only fanbase - which is far larger than the fanbase that follows the TV shows as well. To do it they would essentially have to retell *how* Maul survived - and I can't see that being told effectively on-screen. Don't get me wrong, it could possibly be done well and pulled off, but it would be one of the riskiest moves Disney could make with the SW property as a whole.

My prediction of possible outcomes (most likely to least):
    • Maul wants something else than to fight, but Obi-Wan doesn't, and the ensuing skirmish leads to the death of Maul. Depending on how much direct involvement Obi Wan has in the death, this may go against his recent teachings on Tatooine and he may feel the need to refocus.
    • Maul wants something else than to fight, Obi-Wan initially fights him out of revenge. Maul convinces him in the fight that he has changed, and one way or another Maul leaves of his own accord or escapes, leaving the door open for potential future Maul stories (but not on the big screen)
    • They actually both want to fight, and Kenobi kills Maul
    • Maul wants to convince Obi-Wan to help him defeat Palpatine for killing Mother Talzin, but has to convince Kenobi that he no longer harbors hate for him. Kenobi of course does not help, but this could set up a future battle with Maul & Vader for the next season
In any of these scenarios, Ezra and/or Kanan will have to be involved in some capacity - this show rarely if ever shows major scenes that are not of the main cast, unlike TCW. It's just what it is in terms of storytelling. Having an aside showing only Maul escaping in his ship at the end of S2 is very different than a climactic battle to the death, and would break from the existing storytelling style simply for fan service. I worry about how they will reconcile Kenobi meeting and/or being aware of the existence of Ezra and Kanan, but we do already know that Yoda has contacted both, so the same reasonings would apply.

I'll agree that this is better, but it is no huge loss if you don't bother. The show is largely an anthology rather than one long story.

    uggggg - I don't care anymore. I really don't.

Filoni took a great character and turned him into Cobra Commander.

I don't care how he dies or who kills him, just do it and get it over with. PLEASE

It seems like they had something in mind for him that they either changed their minds on or didn't get a chance to explore. I think its possible palpatine may be using him now.

I think he knows he can't destroy the Sith alone and needs Obi Wan alive. He doesn't go to fight. it looks like it from the previews, but its a trick to get us all pumped. He probably just straight up tells him to protect Luke at all costs and that he knows that the true way to destroy the Sith is through Luke. He may even go off and handle some other threats to Luke that we never even knew existed as a means to help Obi Wan make sure that Luke is never noticed/caught/harmed until his inevitable meeting with Obi Wan a few years later. If, in Maul's mind, his ultimate goal is to get revenge against the Stih, and he has seen their downfall via the Ezra Holocron situation, then he knows the future lies in Luke. Obi Wan was just protecting the kid as far as we know, at this point, and may not know that he is the New Hope, else he would have trained him from day 1. Maul may be the catalyst that Obi Wan needs to prepare his mind for training Luke in the near future.

I am with you on this one. I think Maul is looking for Luke Skywalker... not Obi Wan at all. I believe that Maul was looking for 'HOPE' when he and Ezra merged the holocrons and he saw Obi Wan & Luke Skywalker... and Maul wants to train LUKE as his new apprentice to defeat the Empire aka... THE SITH.

I do believe that Maul does not go to Tatooine looking for fight, but rather an ally.

That being said... I fully believe that Maul will die on Tatooine.

I'd be shocked if he temporarily worked with Kenobi.
