Imagine the Interior of your car and house. Over 20 plus years things start to look old.

Isn’t it something like 5 years before ANH though? Maybe we will see it getting beat up during the film.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. So maybe in the beginning it’s pristine but by the end of the film the Falcon starts looking more used.

In Episode IX, we should see Rey restoring the ship back to looking new. Maybe add some flowers and potpourri :D

Not worried about the canon stuff. Too small a detail. It's really just a tiny easter egg in RoTS.

And I dig the new Falcon design . . . but don't you just kinda want to grab it, you know, and smush the front end down a little and be like, "There, that's better."

I didn't like how clean it is. Its supposed to be a hunk of junk with Han's special mods. I find the clean interior a harder retcon to the nose shape. The nose shape might simply be an add on that fits in the space between the front pieces. Its supposed to pick up some cargo there so its possible that the shape difference is a cargo container. Perhaps it gets jettisoned before getting boarded by imperials.

The shape and size of the nose of this Falcon does not lend itself to there being a part that comes off to make it look how we know it. In the non-canon EU, the YT-1300 is a very basic ship that is configurable to accommodate for just about any configuration. The base of the ship is the "disc" with parts added onto it as the buyer/owner chooses. My guess is that the front of this Falcon gets wrecked or whatever giving Han the opportunity to swap it out with the mandibles that we know.

Also remember that the Millennium Falcon that Lando knew/lost looks nothing like the "piece of junk" MF that lands on Cloud City several years later.
These "changes" to MF are all legit as this is not the OT MF at all, but rather the pretty ship that Han cons Lando out of pre-ANH.

Right. I was just saying that with space in the front filled and the pointier side bits there is something added.

According to the new canon, the ship - designation YT-1300 492727ZED - was built more than 90 years before the "Cold War" between the remnants of the Galactic Empire (The First Order) and The New Republic, which began in 5 ABY (ROTJ era).

This means that the ship was factory new before 85 BBY, which is 53 years before Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace in 32 BBY.

This also means the Falcon in the Solo movie is definitely not factory new, as The Galactic Empire was formed in 19 BBY when the Falcon was at least 66 years old.

The Falcon is at least 119 years old in Episodes 7 and 8 of the ST.

I calculate that the Falcon is at least 66 years old when the Galactic Empire was formed in 19 BBY and the Solo film clearly takes place after that date as the Empire is featured in the teaser video.

Wookieepedia states that Han Solo was born in 29 BBY, 3 years before Episode 1. If being an adult at the age of 18 is a requirement to join the Empire, then the Solo film takes place in 11 BBY - which means the Falcon of that time is at least 74 years old.

Watched SOLO teaser quite a few times, well I noticed an unfurlable space antenna on left side of the falcon, it's usual dish antenna from OT is missing and also Falcon from OT had a split on it's front hull. The split on it's hull may be a later modification done by Han Solo himself to use the Falcon as a freight tug or fright hauler.

Look, Disney needs to make money off this film, and if that's from sucker fans rebuying their Lego and Hasbro sets of the Falcon for a whinier pointier version, of course they'll do it!

OK...I found a clean shot of the Falcon from the "long" trailer when it's flying sideways after it flips and wrecks the TIE.
It's very well lit, so I got one of my Titanium Die-Cast Falcons and held up to the screen so it matched the exact angle and relative size.
I got it to line up so well that I could clearly see the difference between the two.

So, it looks like Han eventually removes about 20-25% of the MUCH longer nose of this ship.
He then obviously cuts out the middle piece to create the forked look we all know.

I'm very curious about this change myself. But I don't think the Revenge of the Sith stuff is important. That's always been an easter egg. Retconning it won't be difficult.
