As in...in a future film where they're like, "the Jedi science has been proved wrong...they just wanted to sound smart."

Yeah. Even some of Einsteins theories were wrong. Some of his math was incorrect.

I dont think that JJ would step over GL like that, although maybe Gareth Edwards or Colin or Rian might have done that, you'll never know ...

In Buddhism it says "When you think you know everything, you know nothing. When you think you know nothing, you can learn everything."

    I agree.
They are canon. I never had any problem with them.

I am fine with midichlorians (it's such small tidbit, that I am suprised how many people are butthurt), but come on with the bloodlines!

Luke Skywalker's story can be paralleled with the clasich myths, like King Arthur for example.
The greatest hero always come from great bloodlines. King Arthur was almost no-one, before he pulled out the sword, that actually belonged to his father Pendragon, who had a huge power and ruled the land, before his greed and powerlust became his downfall.
Then the Arthur was set on destiny to unify the England etc. Every kid knows this story.

It all starts in ANH with ''Your father was a best starpilot and Jedi Knight in the galaxy'' (sorry, not an actual quote, it goes from my head)
and ''this is his lightsaber'' which starts the path of epic journey to liberate the galaxy from evil Empire.

You can have a villager, who kills a dragon and marries a princess in fairy tale but every legendary hero like King Arthur, Siegfried or the Greek heroes like Perseus or Heracles
were always part of royal or grand bloodline.

OK, we have a woman emancipation nowadays, that's only right, but even if Luke Skywalker was of some royal heritage, I could still relate to him as a kid.
As a kid, you are not relating to a hero because he is girl, boy, royal, super strong or whatever, but because he embodies the courage, adventure and principles that you are relating yourself too. Everyone now is like having girls more prominentnly is something groundbreaking, ehm ehm, I was a huge fan of Lara Croft series as a kid and well, it wasn't because of her pointy 64-bit boobs, hahaha.

I have never had a problem with the midichlorian concept. It just presents us with a physical explanation as to why some individuals are naturally more attuned to the Force than others, that's all. It doesn't demystify the Force itself.

I just think midi-chlorians are a little boring and take all the magic and fun out of Star Wars. I always imagined Lucas made midi-chlorians so it could be debunked in the future.

I believe this contradicts the whole Star Wars/Jedi Universe. We know even the maker did some mistakes (real mother etc.), so let´s be benevolent here with George. He´s just a human being after all... :)

That's why I said in a previous post to look to the spirituality of Buddhism and Hinduism for some clues .
