How the hell did they move the Falcon from Pinewood Studios to Longcross Studios? That's a 24 mile trip!

CONFIRMED: The Falcon actually flys.

Yep, I re-posted the story in the TLJ rumours thread after picking up from the Jedi News item. The suggestion was that the Longcross Falcon is the one built for the external shots at Greenham for TFA as the Pinewood one is only a half-build and allegedly still in place there.

The Longcross 'spotted' story does seem to have (very belatedly) gone viral with the British press this past week for some unknown reason.

I remember this. It's where those people took photos of the Force tree and of themselves climbing on the Falcon.

The Force Tree set and Falcon where the photos were taken were both at Pinewood, sir. There was a brief period where you could see the Force Tree on Google Earth too.

I'm gonna punt that the Falcon set at Longcross was used for something towards the end of TLJ which we haven't seen anything of yet - perhaps the closing scenes post-Crait battle.

When the BTS reel emerged, (just before I went into lockdown over any more TLJ spoilers) there's a brief snippet with crew amongst some hitherto unseen speeders against a background of thin trees in early morning light... based on the similarly thin trees you can see the shadows of in the Google Earth image, I'm reckoning that the speeders were shot at Longcross (before we knew it was/had been a TLJ filming location) and the Falcon is in that scene too.

Amazing how precisely they landed it in that makeshift docking bay made from cargo containers.

I'm talking about these photos which were taken at Longcross Studios in Surrey. It looks like the Falcon and the Force tree exterior set was used in this tv spot.
