Moments Where TFA Gave You Chills

i had so many! hadn't enjoyed a film this much in the theatre since TDKR.

1. Lucasfilm logo (mostly trepidation; not necessarily the good kind of chills ~ hahaha)
   
2. Lor San Tekka walking calmly through the fire toward his fate.
3. Rey's first (non Basic) line yelling at Teedo.
   
4. the TIE fighter whipping back on the securing line: doh!
5. "the garbage will do!": eeeeee!
6. Kylo Ren going ballistic on the computer terminal (first indicator there's something not quite right with this guy).
   
7. "we're home": Han Solo! Chewbacca! arghhhh!
   
8. "yeah, i knew Luke" (ughhhh).
   
9. Rey touching the lightsaber in the trunk.
10. Starkiller music when the system blows up.
    
11. Ren freezing Rey in the forest.
12. Finn screaming after the shuttle as Rey is abducted.
13. Leia!!!
14. "you're his father". still kills me.
    
15. "i'm just here to get Rey" (awwww, Finn).
16. Han, Finn, Chewie, and Rey looking up at the dogfight over the oscillator (such an exquisite shot).
    
17. Han giving Chewie the detonator (that was the moment i knew he'd die)
18. Han walking out onto the bridge (that was the moment i knew how)
19. "Ben!"
20. might as well just say i didn't stop shivering until long after Han was gone.
    
21. Kylo Ren punches himself in his wound.
22. ...and twirls that dang lightsaber. i mean...dang.
23. Rey catches the lightsaber. one moment of cinematic perfection: her reaction, his reaction, the swell of music.
    
24. Rey drops Ren the first time by slashing his knees (that was the moment it was clear she was going to trash him).
    
25. Rey hugs Leia.
26. Chewie smiles at Rey.
27. Luke removes his hood.

there were prolly lots of others i can't think of off the top of my head.

 

This moment gave me chills

 

I had many chills during my first viewing.

This is my list:

- opening crawl
- Rey´s introduction (Rey´s theme is so beautiful)
- introduction of the Millenium Falcon (the whole cinema was like "oooahh!")
- Vader´s burned mask in combination with the imperial march
- Han tells about Luke and the force
- Maz explains the force
- the X-Wings are flying over the water (i had to cry here )
- Han´s fate ("Ben!")
- Rey uses the force to get the lightsaber (burning homestead theme)
- Luke Skywalker

 

yes! and yes! these two too!

 

Nothing quite like a rousing speech for the troops seconds before an innocent TREACHEROUS system gets blown up to bits!

In all seriousness, I feared this scene would come across as cheesy, but Dom channeled so much charisma and vigor (and HAM) that it worked spectacularly. It raised him a tad above Tarkin in my eyes. When I saw his gaze at the red laser beam firing up from the bowels of Starkiller Base, my mind went "So... this guy's rather patriotic!".

 

For Hux's sake, I hope he ends up surviving till the climax of Episode IX, at least. He's an extremely fun villain to have around.

 

I liked TDKR too! "There's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne..."

I could have done this list myself: awesome!!

I have to add the Millennium Falcon chase on Jakku, where Rey does a flip to get inside the Star Destroyer like the one Han did to get inside the big Asteroid in ESB. Also when they were flying the MF, and Han and Rey were finishing each other sentences!

 

The moment when Han calls Ben by his name and his son...

 

At that point I thought "I have a bad feeling about this".

 

The MSW leaks is when I knew Han's fate.

 

when Harrison Ford said he wanted Han Solo to die back in the 1980s was what i knew Han's fate ~ hahaha

 

You've known since the 80s? Man that gives ME chills.

yep. i knew if they ever made a sequel the only way they would convince Harrison Ford to come back was to let Han Solo die.
i was really heartbroken when i realized that Harrison Ford's role was more than just a cameo. i think the moment he explained the Force to Rey and Finn, i knew we were going to see him die, but i was still kind of hopeful until he gave Chewie the detonator ~ then it was clear that it was all going down.
