It seems like the floodgates are officially open with Star Wars Episode IX leaks, as another batch of set rumors and details are surfacing.

    POTENTIAL SPOILERS!

Making Star Wars have looked closer at some earlier claims and have added a lot of content to the realm of discussion. Here are some key topics that they bring up:

    Planet Descriptions

Here's what a lot of fans are most curious about: where we'll be going in the massive  war movie. As of right now, there are three biomes featured in the marketing material that was shown off: a desert planet, a jungle planet, and a swamp planet. Those last two may be different parts of the same planet; the people writing for the site weren't able to tell. Context clues have indicated that none of these are returning planets, and an absence of starship wreckage from the landscape of the desert world pretty much rules out the idea of it being Jakku. (Contrary to Finn's concerns, seemingly nobody wants to go back there.)

It still seems likely that other locations aside from those two will appear in the film, but for the time being, the focus is on selling Episode IX merchandise that will seemingly look toward the new as opposed to the old. Meanwhile, other Star Wars merchandise will reportedly focus on the legacy characters.

    The Knights Of Ren

Originally referred to as 'Force-wielding mercenaries' in certain documents, newer material seems to allude to these guys as a more vague 'group with many special abilities' instead. The Knights of Ren themselves seemingly answer to Kylo Ren and not the First Order itself, which would explain their absence from the main story of the past two movies and why they would come back into play after their boss staged a coup against the First Order's leader.

Speaking of Kylo Ren, there are some new details on his mask. The break itself isn't uniform, which isn't all that surprising considering how he smashed it into a thousand pieces during a particularly tense elevator ride. There seems to be a parallel in place with Rey repairing the Skywalker Lightsaber and Kylo Ren repairing his mask, as Rey is accepting her greater destiny while Kylo Ren continues to be defined by his own past and steadfast in his own goals. From what we've seen online thus far, the idea behind Kylo Ren repairing his mask seems to be something that splits the fans, but it's likely that there will be plenty of scenes where he is using the mask and plenty where he isn't wearing it.

    Characters Missing In Action

Those of you hoping that Captain Phasma would find her way out of trouble again in time for another confrontation with Finn should probably keep your expectations in check, as the team at MSW have not heard much on the front of Phasma-related merchandise as it relates to Episode IX. (Resistance merchandise is a different story.) With any luck, Phasma will probably end up being the Darth Maul of this trilogy in that she doesn't get a lot of screentime, but other media set in the same time frame as The Force AwakensThe Last Jedi, and Episode IX will allow her to have a bigger part. They're certainly playing up her role on Resistance.

Also mysteriously missing from the merchandise-related information is 'DJ', although he effectively served his purpose in the narrative of The Last Jedi and likely wouldn't have a major part to play in Episode IX (aside from, say, a scene where Lando guns him down as part of his entrance into the film). There doesn't appear to be plans for new Porg-related merchandise, either, so expect rebranded merchandise from The Last Jedi to hit the shelves if that ends up happening.

No Need To Call The Radar Technician

Based on what the people at MSW have found out about the Galaxy's Edge theme park expansion and some other stuff, it seems like the Millennium Falcon's new radar dish (which replaces the old one destroyed on Crait) might just be a lot like the one it had in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Going with a new one seems like an easy way to justify selling another expensive Millennium Falcon toy, but Lucasfilm may not be taking that route this time.

    Seeing Red

With another new movies comes the inevitability of more Stormtrooper variants, and apparently this time around, they'll be rocking red armor with some black stripes on them. This is more than just a recolor, though, as this new type of First Order foot soldier has a distinct helmet from its run-of-the-mill counterparts.

    Lando Calrissian, Snazzy As Ever

Details on Lando's appearance in the film are as vague as ever, but one thing is clear between the contradictory decisions: he's rocking one of his prized 'custom piece' capes. The baron of smooth clearly hasn't lost his touch with his old age, and that's all we need to know.

And that covers pretty much everything of note as it relates to Episode IX. While plot details are scarce, it seems like other details about the setting and the characters are more abundant than they have been with the other movies at this same point in time. Stay tuned to Star Wars News Net as we continue to cover the latest and greatest stories related to the Galaxy Far, Far Away.

I’m not surprised that we may see the Knights of Ren in IX. I think there are many fans clamoring to see them and JJ had said after TFA that if he were to do a spin-off movie he would want to do one on the KOR. Now he has a chance to do more with them. From a story perspective it makes sense to bring them in as it would make sense for the Master of the Knights of Ren and new Supreme Leader of the FO to bring in his old minions to do his bidding.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of TLJ, I think it's a worse idea to try to please those same fans and stick a bunch of stuff in Episode 9. Just continue the narrative at this point, as these movies are always trying to correct the supposed wrongs of the previous movies. It will be odd to have the Knights of Ren in Episode 9 when they aren't even mentioned in Episode 8? It will be odd if they change Rey from a nobody, or have Luke come back to life. A Trilogy is supposed to be a 3 part arc for characters, storylines, and plot points, and this seems like a mishmash salad tossed together and they are just seeing what comes out of the bowl for each movie.

I agree on keeping Rey a nobody. However, TLJ left door open for the KOR. Luke mentioning that some of the students siding with Ben during the destruction of the Jedi temple was meant to do just that. Why they are not named in TLJ, this definitely could be a reference to them.

Rian Johnson was asked about the students who followed Kylo in an interview he did with Collider. He said something about them being a secret he couldn't talk about. So they have to be playing some kind of role.

do we all have to keep calling her a 'nobody'? i know that she used the term in the movie talking about herself.. but it's a ghastly thing to say about a person lol. do one's parents decide if you are a somebody or a nobody? they do not.

I still think that JJ will be re-visiting the topic of Rey's past and who her parents are, but whatever happens next.. she isn't a nobody. :)

everyone is special, and i have a flea in my ear about people being called 'nobody'.

if who your parents are still decide if you are a somebody or a nobody.. then we really are going nowhere as a society - in my opinion.

it's a personal thing. you can all call Rey whatever you like.. i just don't like calling a person a nobody.

We are not saying she is literally nobody, it's just a figure of speech to make the point that she is not a legacy character. Heck, we are all nobody's posting on these forums everday! LOL!

I know exactly what you mean.

I understand that sometimes people refer to Rey as a “nobody” meaning “without legacy or known parents” and that’s fair enough. But on numerous occasions I find some people use these kind of epithets to insult the ST characters and movies in not a very constructive way... as if expecting these words to do the magical work of making a valid point or criticism when in reality they don’t. How many times I have read on this board things like: “I don’t like the ST because of Rey nobody or Rey Marie Sue, Leia popping, emo Kylo and the Holdo manoeuvre”... and we are all expected to accept these shorthand terms as if there had been a consensus about their use and they were valid...

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I also have a bee on my bonnet about this kind of thing... It is much nicer to say Rey with unknown parents or write “nobody”, with quotation marks... but this is just me, I suppose. I can be old and fastidious at times :p

Rey isn't a nobody, she's connected to Palpatine…Mike Zeroh said so!!:p:p LOL, the first video that popped up on YouTube today was a Mike Zeroh video about how Rey is connected to Palpatine, blah, blah, blah. No, I didn't watch the video, I just found it amusing and it cracks me up that Zeroh is still turning out fanfiction presented as EXCLUSIVE LEAKS on a daily basis.;)

i officially refuse to watch another M.Zeroh video until someone tells me that the darts in the dartboard behind him have moved. they have been in the same damn numbers for months now... it does my head in.

but yeah.. what he's putting in his (sometimes up to 3 a day) videos now is pretty damn scandalous. he has a hardcore bunch of you tubers that chuck pretty much the same TLJ hate messages under each video he makes, and there are umpteen news sites that publish his 'exclusive' leaks and make it incredibly hard to search for Star Wars ep9 news without tripping over something that points back to him.

i'm 98% sure that he is a member here btw.

I don't want to derail this thread into a Mike Zeroh rumor mill, but did this guy get any of his rumors correct for Episode 8? I just started to see his YouTube videos pop up in the past few months so I have only seen his Episode 9 rumors. He probably has about 5 videos a day, so I don't know what to believe with him.

I give the guy credit, he talks the same monotone voice in EVERY video! LOL!

I don't want to dig back far enough to see his episode 8 "leaks" so I can't really say, but I doubt he got much, if anything, right and I don't think he actually has any real sources. It seems that he just takes rumors and speculations from the internet and makes them into EXCULSIVE NEWS videos. I feel sorry for any poor soul that thinks he is really in the know. I think he just likes to stir the rumor mill and get the clicks on his videos.

He basically does what a TON of people on internet forums do: he discusses rumors that he heard elsewhere. I would assume the difference is he gets money off that channel, and good for him. More power to him. I'd love to make Star Wars rumor videos all day and get paid for it. :)

Maybe he's Supershadow? For anyone who doesn't get this reference, he said he had all of the notes/spoilers regarding Episode 3 and The Sequel Trilogy from Lucas back in the early 00's. I remember his one Episode 3 rumor is that when Anakin was put into the Vader suit, it was yellow instead of Black. The sad thing is people believed him and there was a firestorm on the internet with everyone arguing about Yellow Vader! LOL!

I was going to ask if anyone knew if he got paid for his videos. I assume the more views, the more $$ he gets? He must be rolling in the cash! He can do whatever he wants, I just hope people figure out it's for entertainment purposes and not legit leaks.

LOL!! A yellow suit? That sounds about right for him. And there's always those poor folks who believe every word he says!
